Direct-to-consumer dinnerware brand BlackCarrot has secured more than ₹1.4 crore in total funding, including a ₹30 lakh investment on Zee TV and Zee5’s startup reality show Ideabaaz, at a valuation of ₹15.3 crore. The latest investment was led by Titan Shaili Chopra, after the brand received multiple offers on the show.

The Story Of BlackCarrot

The D2C company, which positions itself as a mass-premium, health-focused dinnerware label, counts actor Neha Dhupia among its investors. Advertising veteran Agnello Dias, former chief creative officer of JWT and co-founder of Taproot Dentsu, has also invested.

Over the past year, BlackCarrot has raised capital from Venture Catalysts, We Founder Circle, EvolveX Accelerator, GX Ventures and Suraj Nalin, co-founder of PlaySimple Games.

“We are excited and grateful for the opportunity to present BlackCarrot on Ideabaaz and to partner with Shaili Chopra. This funding will accelerate our growth across D2C, online marketplaces, quick commerce and offline retail. We are also preparing for a larger upcoming round,” said Yadupati Gupta, founder and CEO.

Dhupia said the brand reflects conscious consumption choices. “BlackCarrot stands for conscious living through thoughtful design and safe materials,” she noted.

Founded by former investment banker Yadupati Gupta and Vishal Gupta, ex-head of sales and marketing at Wipro Consumer Care and VIP Luggage Group, BlackCarrot offers dinnerware made from Bone China–free ceramic, lead-free glassware and 304 food-grade stainless steel cutlery. The brand claims its products are durable, microwave-friendly and designed for health-aware consumers.

BlackCarrot has expanded across quick commerce apps such as Zepto and Swiggy Instamart, premium platforms like Tata Cliq Luxury and Nykaa Fashion, and marketplaces including Amazon, Flipkart and Myntra. It has also entered modern retail through Nature’s Basket and Food Square.

The brand aims to accelerate its offline expansion and scale distribution across categories through the upcoming fundraise.
