Chinese 3D printing startup Ningbo Baishida Electronic Technology Co., Ltd. has completed two angel-stage funding rounds in 2026, securing backing from Hillhouse Ventures and Jingshuihu Ventures as it prepares to bring its first generation of 3D printing equipment to market.
The company, which develops consumer and professional 3D printing systems, received its initial angel investment exclusively from Hillhouse Ventures, followed by an Angel+ round backed solely by Jingshuihu Ventures.
The latest funding will support team expansion, working capital, equipment mass production and continued research and development. Financial details of the transactions were not disclosed.
The investments come as Baishida works to commercialize a printing technology designed to address limitations in conventional desktop 3D printing, particularly those involving material compatibility, printing precision and usability in household environments.
At the center of the company’s development efforts is Layered Membrane Stereolithography (LMS), a light-curing technology that combines line-laser scanning with a membrane-transfer process.
Unlike conventional approaches, LMS uses a sequence of material spreading, curing and linear peeling to create three-dimensional objects. Baishida says the process is designed to balance printing efficiency, accuracy and material flexibility.
In addition to that, the firm also considers the compatibility of materials as an added advantage of the technology. The LMS system by the company uses high viscosity resins and allows the expansion of a wide range of functional materials used in 3D printing.
According to Baishida, their technology will be able to minimize the volatility of the emissions produced when printing and thus provide a better experience for household consumers.
The company has secured three granted invention patents covering its LMS technology system. Related core research was published in the scientific journal Nature Communications in July 2023.
Baishida also plans to expand its intellectual property portfolio across printing materials, manufacturing processes, algorithms, equipment and integrated systems.
Its founding team combines academic research experience with expertise in 3D printing hardware and manufacturing.
Founder Zhou Haoliang studied at Beihang University and earned a doctorate from Imperial College London. His work has focused on 3D printing software algorithms and artificial intelligence applications.
Co-founder Li Yiqi brings more than a decade of experience in the light-curing 3D printing industry, while fellow co-founder Tang Bojiong has experience in printer research, quality management and large-scale consumer electronics manufacturing.
Together, the team brings expertise spanning software development, optical systems, hardware structures, slicing algorithms and printing processes.
With two investment rounds completed, Baishida’s next priority is translating its LMS technology into commercially available products. The latest financing is intended to support that transition through manufacturing preparation, product development and operational expansion.
The company’s progress toward mass production will be an important next step in determining whether its membrane-based printing approach can establish a place in the consumer desktop 3D printing market.
