The GTA 6 map is shaping up to be much more than a return to Vice City. Rockstar Games has confirmed that Grand Theft Auto VI is set in the fictional state of Leonida, with Vice City serving as its central setting. The game is scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Rockstar has released trailers, screenshots and official artwork showing several parts of Leonida. However, there is still no complete official map showing every road, boundary and point of interest. That has led fans to create their own maps by studying publicly available game footage and promotional material.
These fan maps can help illustrate how different areas may connect, but they should not be confused with an official Rockstar map.
Vice City returns in a modern setting
Vice City is once again one of the defining locations in the series. Rockstar describes GTA 6 as a return to modern-day Vice City, while also making clear that the story extends across the wider state of Leonida.
The official material presents Vice City as a major urban environment filled with beaches, roads, buildings, businesses and nightlife. Rockstar has also released a collection of Vice City screenshots and artwork, giving players a closer look at the city’s visual design.
This version of Vice City is part of Rockstar’s current HD Universe, rather than a direct recreation of the city from the 2002 Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.
Leonida expands the map beyond the city
The biggest difference between GTA 6 and a city-focused setting is the scale of the wider world. Rockstar’s official material identifies several distinct areas across Leonida, including the Leonida Keys, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia, Grassrivers and Mount Kalaga National Park. Each has its own official artwork and screenshots on Rockstar’s GTA 6 website.
The Leonida Keys represent the game’s island environment and are closely connected to Jason Duval’s background. Rockstar’s official character material says Jason spent time in the Keys working for local drug runners.
Grassrivers provides a different setting from the urban streets of Vice City, while Port Gellhorn and Ambrosia add further locations to the wider Leonida landscape. Mount Kalaga National Park is another officially named area, showing that the game world extends well beyond the main city.

Official locations and fan estimates are different
A major point of confusion surrounding the GTA 6 map is the difference between confirmed locations and fan-made discoveries.
Rockstar has officially shown the regions listed above through its website, trailers, screenshots and artwork. Beyond those confirmed details, fans have attempted to reconstruct the map by comparing roads, landmarks, buildings and other visible features across released material and previously circulated footage.
Those community maps can be useful, but they remain estimates. An unfinished or apparently empty section of a fan map does not establish what will or will not appear in the final game.
The map’s final size remains unconfirmed
There is considerable interest in how the GTA 6 map will compare with GTA 5. Various fan estimates have suggested that Leonida could be substantially larger, with some comparisons placing it at close to twice the size of GTA 5’s map.
However, Rockstar has not officially published a measurement confirming that comparison. It is therefore better to describe the size as an estimate rather than an established fact.
What Rockstar has confirmed is that the game will cover a broad fictional state rather than focusing solely on Vice City. The official description refers to a criminal conspiracy stretching across Leonida, reinforcing the importance of locations beyond the city itself.
Several map details are still unknown
Despite the amount of material released so far, Rockstar has not provided a complete breakdown of the game’s road network, exact regional boundaries or every location players will be able to visit.
That leaves plenty of room for fan mapping, but it also means unconfirmed locations and predicted map expansions should be treated carefully. A location appearing on a community-created map does not automatically make it part of the confirmed game world.
For now, the safest picture of GTA 6’s map comes directly from Rockstar’s confirmed material: Vice City, Leonida Keys, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia, Grassrivers and Mount Kalaga National Park are all officially identified parts of Leonida.
GTA 6 map: What we know so far
GTA 6 is set in the sprawling fictional state of Leonida, with Vice City at its center. Rockstar has officially revealed several surrounding regions, while fans continue to piece together the wider map from available footage and images.
The complete map has not yet been officially released, so fan-made layouts should remain separate from confirmed information until Rockstar provides further details.
