Deeptech startup Solinas Integrity has raised $5.5 million in a Series A1 funding round co-led by Mela Ventures and Hero Enterprise Family Office.
The round also saw participation from Luthra Group, along with follow-on investments from existing backers. These included an investment fund managed by SBI Ventures, Rainmatter Capital and 8X Ventures Fund I.
Solinas plans to deploy the capital across several areas of its business. A portion will be used to expand manufacturing capacity and accelerate product development, while the company will also invest in its software infrastructure and working capital requirements.
International expansion is another priority. The startup is looking to increase its presence in the Middle East and Southeast Asia while developing additional robotics solutions for the water, sanitation, industrial and defence sectors.
Founded in 2018 by Divanshu Kumar and Moinak Banerjee, Solinas Integrity emerged from the IIT Madras incubation ecosystem. The company develops robotics and technology-led solutions for inspecting and maintaining underground water and sanitation infrastructure.
Its product portfolio includes Endobot, a robotic system used for pipeline inspection, and HomoSEP, which supports mechanised operations in sewers and septic tanks. The startup has also developed SWASTH AI, an infrastructure intelligence platform that uses inspection data to support asset management and predictive analytics.
Solinas says its technologies have already been deployed across more than 30 cities in 15 Indian states. Its solutions are also being used by Dubai Municipality, giving the company an operating presence beyond India.
The company is now exploring applications for its inspection technologies in adjacent sectors, including oil and gas and defence. These industries rely on the regular inspection of critical infrastructure, an area where robotic systems can reduce the need for manual intervention in difficult or hazardous environments.
Within the water, sanitation and hygiene sector, utilities are increasingly turning to technology for pipeline inspection, maintenance and underground asset management. Such systems can help operators identify infrastructure problems, manage water networks and address losses more efficiently.
Solinas describes its offering as an integrated robotics platform covering inspection, digitalisation and the lifecycle management of underground water and wastewater networks. The latest funding is expected to help the company increase production while extending this platform to new markets and infrastructure categories.
