Paediatric healthcare startup Hoola Health has raised $5 million in a funding round led by Peak XV’s Surge, with participation from existing investor W Health Ventures and several angel investors, including Ashish Gupta, Abhishek Goyal, and Bijou Kurien.
The fresh capital will support the company’s plans to expand its footprint, strengthen technology infrastructure, and scale its integrated model of paediatric healthcare services across key urban markets in India.
Building a Comprehensive Care Ecosystem for Children
Founded in 2024 by Deeksha Senguttuvan, Hoola Health focuses exclusively on child healthcare through a network of dedicated clinics. The company was previously known as BabyMD and has now rebranded as part of its broader vision for child health and development.
The startup offers a wide range of services designed to address various stages of a child’s healthcare journey. Its clinics provide paediatric consultations, vaccinations, diagnostics, developmental therapies, and specialist care under a single platform.
By combining physical healthcare facilities with digital tools, Hoola Health aims to create a more connected experience for parents and caregivers. Its technology platform supports vaccination record management, growth tracking, prescriptions, and developmental monitoring, allowing families to access important health information more efficiently.
Rapid Growth Since Launch
Since its launch, the Bengaluru-based company has expanded its operations to five clinics and reports serving more than 20,000 families within 18 months.
The startup’s growth has been supported by strong patient engagement and referrals. According to the company, more than 60% of new patients come through word-of-mouth recommendations, indicating a high level of trust among families using its services.
The business also reports that over 60% of its monthly visits come from returning families. This recurring engagement reflects continued demand for ongoing child healthcare services rather than one-time consultations, a factor that is increasingly important in preventive and developmental care.

Rising Demand for Developmental Health Services
One of the notable trends highlighted by Hoola Health is the growing demand for developmental therapies. The company says nearly 35% of its revenue currently comes from developmental therapy services.
This segment includes care designed to support children’s developmental needs and reflects increasing awareness among parents regarding early intervention and long-term developmental health. The contribution of developmental therapies to overall revenue underscores the company’s focus on delivering a broader range of healthcare services beyond routine paediatric consultations.
The integrated model allows families to access multiple healthcare services through a single provider, reducing the need to coordinate care across different facilities and specialists.
Expansion Plans Across Major Cities
With the new funding in place, Hoola Health is preparing for its next phase of growth. The company plans to open 30 additional clinics over the next two years.
The expansion will focus on Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Delhi NCR, three major urban markets where demand for organised and specialised child healthcare services continues to grow.
In addition to expanding its clinic network, the startup intends to broaden its service offerings. Among the new areas being explored is paediatric dental care, which would further strengthen its position as a comprehensive healthcare provider for children.
The company believes that combining clinical care, developmental support, diagnostics, and preventive services within a single ecosystem can help improve healthcare access and continuity for families.
New Identity Reflects Broader Vision
Alongside the funding announcement, the startup officially rebranded from BabyMD to Hoola Health. The new identity reflects its ambition to move beyond its original positioning and build a wider healthcare platform that supports children through different stages of growth and development.
As it expands into new cities and introduces additional services, Hoola Health is seeking to strengthen its presence in India’s paediatric healthcare sector while continuing to focus on integrated and technology-enabled care for children and families.
