NPrep, an AI-powered education platform focused on nursing students and professionals, has raised $1.5 million in seed funding in a round led by Lumikai. The platform is built to help learners prepare for nursing entrance examinations and pursue global healthcare career opportunities.

The funding round also saw participation from existing investor All In Capital, along with Velo Partners, DSP Group Family Office, and angel investors including Viren Shetty, Executive Vice Chairman of Narayana Health.

Inside NPrep, the Startup Powering Future Nurses

At a time when skilling platforms are increasingly being judged by outcome-led learning, NPrep is positioning itself in a sharply defined category: nursing education. Rather than trying to serve the broader test-prep market, the startup appears to be focusing on a specialised learner base with professional ambitions tied to both domestic and international healthcare opportunities. The company describes itself as an AI-powered, video-first learning platform for nursing students.

The startup says it has crossed 1 lakh users within 10 months of operation. That early user scale, if sustained, gives the company a meaningful base as it looks to deepen product capabilities and widen reach in a niche segment of education technology.

NPrep co-founder Prince Kaushik said the newly raised capital will be used to strengthen the startup’s AI capabilities, expand its reach among nurses at scale, and support learners seeking better-paying opportunities in India and abroad.

The company’s proposition is at the crossroads of exam preparation, employability, and healthcare mobility. Its stated proposition of global healthcare careers implies that NPrep is not only limiting itself to preparation for entrance tests but is also defining its proposition in terms of career progression for nursing professionals. This is where it is different from generic edtech companies that often compete in overcrowded student segments.

The founding team includes Gourav Khurana, Utkarsh Paliwal and Prince Kaushik. For investors, the bet seems to rest on a simple idea: sector-specific education platforms with clear learner outcomes may still attract capital when they solve for a real professional need. In NPrep’s case, that need is highly targeted, preparing nursing students and professionals for examinations and career pathways in healthcare.

What stands out in this round is the combination of institutional and strategic backing. Alongside venture capital participation from Lumikai and existing backer All In Capital, the inclusion of investors such as Velo Partners, DSP Group Family Office and healthcare-linked angel investor Viren Shetty adds weight to the round.

With fresh capital in hand, the next stage of this startup is presumably going to be defined by its ability to leverage AI-based learning to deliver results to its students. For now, however, what is clear is that this startup wants to build at scale within a very specific space of learning.
