Adani Ports and SEZ Ltd CEO Karan Adani used the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2026 platform to outline a long-term industrial and energy vision for Gujarat, placing Kutch at the centre of the state’s next phase of economic expansion.

Addressing delegates in Rajkot, he announced that the Adani Group will invest ₹1.5 lakh crore in Kutch over the next five years, focusing on ports, logistics, manufacturing and renewable energy.

He described Gujarat as a state that demonstrated speed of execution, institutional stability and investor confidence long before ease of doing business became a national priority.

Gujarat contributes over 8 percent to India’s GDP: Karan Adani

Karan also added, that Gujarat contributes over 8 percent to India’s GDP, accounts for around 17 percent of the country’s industrial output, and handles nearly 40 percent of India’s total cargo through its ports, while also leading in renewable energy capacity.

Karan Adani traced the Adani Group’s Gujarat journey to Kutch, calling Mundra the group’s “Karma Bhoomi.” He said Mundra has grown into India’s largest commercial port and a fully integrated logistics hub.

The region, he noted, also hosts the group’s largest copper smelter, a coal-to-PVC complex, and a solar manufacturing facility, underscoring Kutch’s transformation from a geographically challenging region into a strategic industrial base.

A key pillar of the future roadmap outlined in the speech was clean energy. Adani highlighted the Khavda renewable energy park in Kutch, which is planned at a scale of 37 gigawatts. He said the group is working towards commissioning the full capacity by 2030, positioning the project as a symbol of large-scale energy transition aligned with economic growth and national energy security.

On the logistics front, Adani said the group plans to double the capacity of Mundra port over the next ten years. He linked this expansion to India’s broader manufacturing ambitions and the need for globally competitive, high-throughput port infrastructure to support trade and industrial growth.

“This investment of ₹1.5 lakh crores,” he stated, “is designed to give rise to job creation, enhance the competitiveness of industry, and increase the resilience of the economy in keeping with the focus on sustainability.” He associated this announcement with the nation’s aim for the vision of ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’ and reiterated how the state of Gujarat would remain the bedrock of the development journey of the nation of India.

The address painted Kutch not only as a destination for individual projects but rather as the entirety of the growth corridor that would integrate the sectors of ports, manufacturing, logistics, and renewable power. With Mundra and Khavda held up as cornerstones, the address offered a holistic story of industrial development that would see Kutch emerge as one of the most vital regions in the country’s economy in the next few years.
