Mumbai: Actor and entrepreneur Kunal Kapoor has launched MetaGO, a doctor-led metabolic health platform built to help people manage obesity and related metabolic conditions through personalised medical care.
Kapoor, who earlier moved into the startup world as a co-founder of Ketto, has launched MetaGO along with Varun Sheth and Zaheer Adenwala. Ketto, started in 2012, uses technology to connect donors with NGOs, individuals and organisations raising money for medical treatment and disaster relief.
With MetaGO, the founding team is now turning its attention to another side of India’s healthcare challenge: long-term metabolic health.
The Mumbai-based startup brings together metabolic assessments, personalised care plans, nutrition guidance, fitness coaching, clinically appropriate GLP-1 therapies and medical supervision into one care programme. The idea is not to treat weight management as a short-term goal, but as a monitored health journey led by doctors.
Every member on the platform begins with a metabolic assessment covering more than 35 parameters, along with a detailed clinical evaluation. Based on the findings, an endocrinologist, cardiologist or internal medicine specialist prepares a treatment plan aligned with the member’s health profile and goals.
MetaGO will follow a continuous care model, where doctors, coaches and members remain connected through the programme. Treatment plans are updated over time, with the platform focusing on helping people sustain outcomes instead of only chasing quick results.
The startup’s positioning is shaped by the founders’ experience of working with families dealing with serious medical expenses. Through that work, they saw the financial and emotional burden linked to conditions such as type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, obesity and other metabolic disorders.
MetaGO enters a space where health, technology and preventive care are increasingly overlapping. Its pitch is simple: obesity and metabolic conditions need structured medical supervision, not isolated diet advice or one-size-fits-all fitness plans.
For Kapoor, this marks another step in building technology-led platforms around real-world healthcare needs. For MetaGO, the challenge will be to turn a doctor-led model into a long-term care habit for people who need sustained support, clinical oversight and personalised guidance.
