First AC Honeymoon Coup: A video of a decorated First AC railway coupe, styled like a private honeymoon room with balloons, rose petals and floral arrangements, has drawn attention online and prompted Indian Railways to order an inquiry.
The private cabin, seen in the viral clip, had been dressed up with red and white balloons, flowers, rose petals and an “I Love You” display. The setup made the coupe look closer to a hotel room than a reserved railway compartment.
The decoration was reportedly arranged as a surprise for a newly married couple travelling on Train No. 11002 Nandedgram Express. The coupe had been booked for a couple from Jalna, and the arrangement was handled by Rahat Room Decoration, a Maharashtra-based company.
The organisers said the couple first travelled by road from Aurangabad to Jalna railway station. Before they boarded the train, decorators entered the coach and completed the setup inside the First AC coupe.
That access is now at the centre of the inquiry.
Indian Railways has suspended a ticket checker after the video surfaced, with officials examining how people from outside the railway system were allowed inside a reserved coach to carry out the decoration work. The probe is expected to look into whether railway protocol was violated and who permitted the decorators to enter the coach before the passengers arrived.
The incident has also raised a larger question around privacy, passenger safety and the limits of personal celebrations in public transport spaces. While railway journeys are often part of wedding and family travel in India, the use of a reserved coach space for a private decorated setup has triggered scrutiny because of the way outsiders allegedly gained access to the train.
For now, the Railways’ action appears focused on the access breach rather than the couple. The inquiry will determine how the arrangement was allowed inside the coach and whether staff on duty failed to follow required procedures.
