Xiaomi is bringing its Xiaomi 18 Pro flagship smartphone to India, with the company confirming the launch during Snapdragon Day at the India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2026. Gautam Batra, Associate Director of Product Marketing at Xiaomi India, announced that the handset would arrive in the country in the coming months.
The Xiaomi 18 Pro is set to compete in India’s premium smartphone segment with a combination of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 processor, Leica-backed cameras and a secondary display on the rear panel. The phone also features a 7,000mAh battery, fast wired and wireless charging, and a privacy-focused display technology.
Although Xiaomi has confirmed the Indian launch, the company has yet to announce the official release date or price.
Xiaomi 18 Pro Brings Two Displays to a Compact Flagship
The Xiaomi 18 Pro features a 6.4-inch flat 1.5K LTPO AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of up to 4,000 nits. Its relatively compact screen size is paired with a second display on the back, positioned beside the camera module.
The 2.7-inch rear LTPO AMOLED screen also supports a 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of up to 4,000 nits. It can be used to check notifications, access widgets, display custom graphics and frame selfies using the phone’s rear cameras.
The rear display gives users another way to interact with the phone without relying entirely on the main screen. It could also be useful for people who prefer taking selfies with the higher-resolution rear camera system.
Another notable addition is Xiaomi’s Super Pixel Display 2.0. The hardware-based privacy feature uses specialised micro-baffles and privacy pixels to restrict viewing angles when activated. The technology is designed to make on-screen content harder for people nearby to see, offering an additional layer of privacy in public spaces.
Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 Powers the Xiaomi 18 Pro
Performance is handled by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset, which is built on a 2nm architecture and features Oryon CPU cores clocked at up to 5.01GHz.
Xiaomi will offer the device with 12GB or 16GB of RAM, alongside storage configurations of 256GB, 512GB and 1TB. The combination is intended to support demanding applications, gaming and multitasking.
To manage heat during intensive use, Xiaomi has equipped the handset with a redesigned ring-shaped cold pump cooling system.
The Xiaomi 18 Pro is also among the upcoming smartphones identified for India’s first wave of devices powered by the new Snapdragon processor. The iQOO 16 and Motorola Signature 27 are also mentioned in this group.
Xiaomi 18 Pro Camera Specifications: Dual 200MP Sensors
The camera system is another major feature of the Xiaomi 18 Pro, with Xiaomi continuing its partnership with Leica for mobile photography.
The smartphone has two 200MP rear cameras, supported by a 50MP ultrawide camera. The primary sensor and periscope telephoto camera offer different shooting capabilities, while optical image stabilisation is available on both 200MP cameras.
Here is a breakdown of the camera specifications:
- Primary camera: 200MP Light Fusion 960 sensor with a 1/1.28-inch sensor size and optical image stabilisation (OIS).
- Periscope telephoto camera: 200MP sensor with OIS, 3.2x optical zoom and support for macro photography at distances as close as 12cm.
- Ultrawide camera: 50MP sensor for wider scenes and landscape photography.
- Front camera: 50MP sensor housed in a punch-hole cutout for selfies and video calls.
The dual 200MP setup gives the Xiaomi 18 Pro separate high-resolution sensors for standard photography and zoom photography. The telephoto camera’s macro capability also adds close-up photography to its list of features.
7,000mAh Battery With 100W Wired Charging
Despite its 6.4-inch main display, the Xiaomi 18 Pro packs a 7,000mAh silicon-carbon battery. The phone supports 100W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging.
Its connectivity and hardware features include Wi-Fi 7, Ultra-Wideband (UWB), a USB 3.2 Gen 1 port, dual stereo speakers and an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. The handset also includes a dedicated AI button.
On the software front, the Xiaomi 18 Pro runs Android 17 with Xiaomi’s HyperOS 4 interface. The combination of the large battery, fast charging and high-refresh-rate displays forms a central part of the phone’s hardware package.
Xiaomi 18 Pro India Price: Will It Cross Rs 1 Lakh?
Xiaomi has not disclosed the official Indian price of the Xiaomi 18 Pro. However, the possibility of a price above Rs 1 lakh is worth watching as the company prepares to bring the flagship to the market.
For context, the Xiaomi 17 launched in India at Rs 89,999. Based on that starting price and the possibility of higher component costs, the Xiaomi 18 Pro could enter a more expensive price bracket. This remains an estimate, not an announced price.
The final cost will be an important factor for buyers comparing the device with other upcoming premium smartphones, including the iQOO 16 and Motorola Signature 27.
Xiaomi 18 Pro India Launch Date and Availability
Xiaomi has confirmed that the Xiaomi 18 Pro will launch in India in the coming months, but an exact date has not been announced. Pricing, availability details and the final Indian retail configurations also remain unconfirmed.
For now, the phone’s key highlights include its dual 200MP rear cameras, 2.7-inch rear display, Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset and 7,000mAh battery. More details about its Indian launch should clarify how Xiaomi plans to position the device in the country’s premium smartphone market.
