US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor visited Reliance Industries’ Jamnagar facility, where they met Chairman Mukesh Ambani and Executive Director Anant Ambani for discussions covering energy, technology and potential business opportunities with American companies.

The two US officials were taken around the refinery complex and given an overview of its operations. The visit also covered Reliance’s upcoming projects at Jamnagar, including its new energy giga-factories, which are being commissioned in phases, and data centres that are currently under construction.

During the meeting, Mukesh Ambani and Anant Ambani spoke about their plans for Jamnagar and how the complex could develop into a major centre for advanced manufacturing and technology. While oil refining remains an important part of the facility, Reliance is also investing in newer businesses linked to clean energy and digital infrastructure.

A significant part of the conversation focused on the changing energy needs of industries, especially as data centres become increasingly important to the digital economy. The discussions touched on the need for affordable and reliable power, improvements in technology and the importance of building supply chains that can support future demand.

The Ambanis also discussed opportunities to work with US companies in conventional and new energy businesses. The exchange covered areas where American technology and Reliance’s manufacturing and engineering capabilities could complement each other.

No specific investment or commercial agreement was announced following the meeting.

Reliance thanked Rubio and Gor for visiting Jamnagar and said the discussions provided an opportunity to exchange views on the energy sector and explore areas of mutual commercial interest.
