iPhone Duo India price and sale date
Apple has set October 23 as the retail launch date for the iPhone Duo in India. Pre-orders will open a week earlier, on October 16 at 5:30 PM IST.
The 256GB variant starts at ₹2,99,900, while the range extends up to the 2TB version priced at ₹4,49,900. The device will be sold through Apple stores and partner outlets.
India is also among more than 70 markets included in the first wave of the iPhone Duo rollout.
A foldable iPhone built around two displays
The iPhone Duo features a 7.6-inch inner Super Retina XDR OLED display and a 5.4-inch outer screen. The inner panel comes with a nano-texture finish and is designed without a visible crease.
Apple has paired the displays with a titanium frame and a precision-engineered hinge. The foldable also carries an IP68 durability rating.
The outer screen can deliver up to 44 hours of video playback, according to the details provided for the device.
A20 Pro chip and dual 48MP cameras
Powering the iPhone Duo is Apple’s A20 Pro chip. The foldable supports ProMotion, Always-On functionality and Apple Intelligence.
Photography is handled by a dual-camera setup featuring two 48MP Fusion cameras. The combination gives the Duo a flagship-level camera configuration while keeping the device’s foldable design at the centre of its hardware identity.
iOS 27 focuses on multitasking
Apple has redesigned iOS 27 on the iPhone Duo around the larger inner display. The software includes split-screen multitasking and side-mounted controls, with Apple Pencil support also included.
The approach gives the foldable a different software focus from a conventional iPhone, using the expanded screen to handle multiple tasks at once.
Apple enters the foldable market
The iPhone Duo marks Apple’s entry into the foldable smartphone category after years of speculation around products that were expected to carry names such as iPhone Fold or iPhone Ultra.
Apple unveiled the Duo alongside the iPhone 18 Pro series. The launch comes seven years after Samsung’s Galaxy Fold debut, placing Apple behind some established competitors in the category.
The company is relying on its hardware design, software integration and multitasking features as it enters the market. The Duo combines a titanium frame, precision-engineered hinge, IP68 durability and a foldable display in an attempt to distinguish Apple’s first entry from existing foldable smartphones.
John Ternus on leading Apple
Apple CEO John Ternus described his role at the company as an extraordinary privilege and highlighted the teams working at Apple.
He said his long association with the company continues to be driven by its focus on curiosity, invention and the pursuit of excellence.
With the iPhone Duo, Apple is now taking its foldable strategy from years of speculation to an actual product launch, with Indian customers set to get their first opportunity to buy the device from October 23.
