Indian Startup Funding- July 2026: Indian startups raised $219.2 million across 18 funding rounds during the week ended July 9, recording a 28.3% increase over the previous week even as the number of deals declined as per Tracxn.
The rise in capital was largely driven by a small group of sizeable late-stage transactions. Late-stage companies attracted $167.7 million during the week, more than double the $79.6 million secured in the preceding period. These investments represented close to 76% of the total funding raised between July 3 and July 9.
The previous week had seen startups raise $170.9 million across 24 rounds.
The numbers point to a funding market where larger cheques for mature businesses are supporting headline growth, while activity at the seed and early stages remains comparatively restrained.
Yotta accounts for more than two-thirds of weekly funding
Yotta led the fundraising activity with a $150 million round, accounting for more than two-thirds of all capital deployed during the week.
Adage followed with $24.2 million, while Sunstone raised $17.7 million. WizCommerce secured $8.3 million.
Other companies that announced notable funding rounds included Econovus with $4.2 million, Mowito with $3 million, Milo Drive with $2.4 million and Blurgs with $2.2 million. FibroHeal raised $1.5 million, while TOCAL secured $1 million.
The concentration of capital among the largest transactions was evident in the weekly figures. Although total funding increased, the number of rounds fell from 24 to 18, indicating that the improvement came from deal size rather than a broader rise in fundraising activity.
Early-stage funding drops by more than half
Funding for Series A and Series B companies declined sharply during the week. Early-stage startups raised $33.5 million, down from $71.8 million in the previous period.
Seed and angel funding also softened, although the decline was smaller. Startups at this stage collected $18 million, compared with $19.4 million a week earlier.
Together, seed and early-stage companies raised $51.5 million during the latest week. That was less than one-third of the amount secured by late-stage businesses.
The contrast between the funding stages highlights continued investor preference for more mature startups, particularly when large transactions are available.
Weekly funding remains far below late-June level
Despite the week-on-week increase, startup funding remained significantly below the level recorded in the week ended June 25.
During that period, Indian startups had raised $1.05 billion across 17 rounds. The latest week recorded one additional deal but attracted only a fraction of that capital, reflecting the absence of similarly large funding announcements.
It is important to see that the comparison reveals the way in which individual transactions impact the total funds raised weekly by startups. This may happen due to a small number of big deals made.
July startup funding reaches $358.4 million
Indian startups have raised $358.4 million across 29 funding rounds so far in July 2026.
It appears that the fundraising in the month was spearheaded by a few later-stage deals, whereas the seed and early-stage fundraising stayed fairly quiet. The implication here is that there is money around, but that it is getting invested in a selective manner into larger fundraises.
The coming weeks will determine whether the rise in weekly funding develops into a broader recovery or remains dependent on a small number of high-value transactions.
