Founding Team and Leadership Focus
RoadGrid was founded in 2020 and is led by a team with experience in energy infrastructure and EV charging technology. The co-founders include Deepesh Shrinath, who serves as Chief Executive Officer, with more than 15 years of experience in UPS, energy and power infrastructure industries; and Shashank Narayan, Chief Technology Officer, with over a decade of experience in solar, automotive, and EV charging sectors. They are part of a founding group that also includes Chandraprakash Akotkar and Bharat Joshi, contributing expertise in operations and marketing respectively.
Under their leadership, RoadGrid is building patented universal EV chargers that are compatible with two-wheelers, three-wheelers, and four-wheelers. The company’s products are backed by a cloud-based software platform designed to manage charge points, streamline operations, and deliver a seamless customer experience.
Universal Charging for Diverse EV Categories
A core strength of RoadGrid’s offering is its universal charging hardware, which supports a broad range of electric vehicles. The chargers are designed for adaptability across different vehicle types, addressing a key challenge in India’s rapidly expanding EV market.
Besides hardware, the company’s cloud-connected platform assists operators with real-time monitoring, billing management, and operational analytics, enhancing both reliability and user convenience.
Dual Business Strategy
RoadGrid’s operations span two main business areas. The first segment focuses on manufacturing and supplying chargers to electric vehicle original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). This includes solutions for off-board charging and fast direct current (DC) charging requirements.
The second segment involves building and operating public and commercial charging stations. Through this model, RoadGrid directly participates in expanding charging access for private EV owners, commercial fleet operators, and public users.
Growing Footprint Across Key Markets
The company already has operational deployments in cities such as Indore and Noida, along with installations at Indian Oil Corporation Limited sites. It reports a confirmed pipeline of more than 1,000 chargers, illustrating rising demand for its products and services.
RoadGrid also supplies chargers to EV manufacturers and fleet operators, with deployments supporting companies such as Euler Motors and contributing to the charging network for VinFast’s India operations. These collaborations reflect the startup’s engagement with both domestic and international EV players as the market scales.
Supporting India’s Electric Mobility Goals
As India pushes forward with its electric mobility transition, RoadGrid’s focus on universal chargers and smart software solutions positions it as a noteworthy contributor to the national charging infrastructure ecosystem. The company’s expanded manufacturing, technology development, and network rollout plans are expected to enhance the availability of EV charging infrastructure in multiple regions.
The fresh funding comes at a time when industry partnerships and strategic collaborations are becoming crucial to achieving wider EV adoption, and RoadGrid’s investor backing and leadership team provide momentum toward establishing a more accessible charging network nationwide.
