Equity research startup Multibagg AI has raised Rs 1.5 crore in a pre-seed funding round led by AJVC. The fresh capital marks an early milestone for the Bengaluru-based company as it works to strengthen its artificial intelligence-driven research and analytics platform for retail stock market investors in India.

The company said the newly raised funds will be primarily deployed toward team expansion and product development. These efforts are aimed at enhancing the platform’s underlying technology and improving the depth and usability of its research tools as Multibagg AI continues to scale its offerings.

Bringing institutional-grade research to retail investors

Founded with the goal of narrowing the information gap in India’s rapidly expanding retail investment landscape, Multibagg AI offers institutional-grade equity research and analytics through an AI-native platform. The startup focuses on making high-quality financial research accessible to individual investors, who often lack the resources and expertise available to large institutions.

Multibagg AI positions itself within the equity research segment of financial technology, which it describes as a multi-billion-dollar global opportunity. By building its product from India with a global outlook, the company aims to serve a broad base of users seeking data-driven insights and structured analysis to support investment decisions.

Platform traction and early revenue signals

The startup reports steady early traction since launching its beta version around six months ago. According to the company, Multibagg AI has crossed 10,000 users on its platform, reflecting growing interest among retail investors for AI-powered research solutions.

In addition to user growth, the company stated that it has achieved more than Rs 10 lakh in annual recurring revenue. While still at an early stage, this revenue milestone signals initial validation of its business model and willingness among users to pay for advanced research and analytics tools.

Addressing a widening research gap

Commenting on the company’s vision, founder and CEO Aaditya Anand said the platform is being built to address a structural imbalance in the market. He pointed to the sharp rise in the number of retail investors in India, alongside the limited availability of qualified research professionals capable of serving this expanding audience at scale.

Multibagg AI aims to bridge this gap by combining artificial intelligence with structured financial data, enabling users to access research insights, analyze companies, and explore investment-related questions more efficiently. The platform’s AI assistant plays a central role in this approach, helping users interact with data and research content in a more intuitive manner.

High-value portfolios linked to the platform

The company also shared details about user engagement on its platform. According to Multibagg AI, users have connected portfolios collectively valued at over Rs 5,000 crore. These users have actively interacted with the platform’s AI assistant for a range of research-related queries, suggesting strong engagement beyond simple sign-ups.

Such engagement indicates that users are not only exploring the platform but also integrating it into their investment research workflows. For an early-stage product still in beta, this level of interaction is seen by the company as a positive signal of product-market fit.

Investor perspective and broader portfolio

The pre-seed round was led by AJVC, an early-stage investment firm that has backed several young startups across diverse sectors over the past year. Its recent investments include AI email client Faraday, fintech startup Chop Finance, AI-led verification platform TruFides AI, civic technology venture Jaagruk Bharat, consumer brand Mithila Foods, mobility services startup GaadiMech, proptech firm Iztri, and sustainability-focused startup Nuyug.

With this investment, Multibagg AI joins a growing portfolio of technology-driven startups supported by AJVC, reflecting the firm’s interest in emerging applications of AI and data-led platforms.

Focus on building for the next phase

As Multibagg AI moves forward, its immediate focus remains on strengthening its team and refining its product capabilities. By investing in talent and technology, the startup aims to improve the accuracy, reliability, and usability of its research tools, while continuing to support a growing base of retail investors seeking deeper insights into the equity markets.

The company’s progress over the past six months, combined with fresh capital and early user adoption, sets the stage for its next phase of growth in India’s evolving fintech ecosystem.
