Children’s technology startup Wippi, Founded by Rishabh Singhi and Siddhartha Jain has raised $1.2 million in a seed funding round led by 12 Flags, as the company looks to deepen its voice AI capabilities and take its screen-free interactive products to a wider audience.
Warmup Ventures, Ventana Ventures and Ruvento Ventures also participated in the round.
Wippi plans to put the fresh capital into developing its voice AI technology, expanding its engineering and AI teams, strengthening its presence in India and growing its direct-to-consumer business. Part of the funding will also go towards adding more characters to its platform and developing original content.
The fundraising comes as Wippi sets itself a clear growth target. The company plans to reach 15,000 families over the next 12 months while also preparing to expand into international markets.
Building interactive experiences without a screen
Wippi develops screen-free products that bring together voice AI, storytelling and interactive play for children.
Its current product range includes Character Cards, illustrated storybooks and Wippi Radio. The idea is to make stories more participatory rather than simply presenting children with content to watch or listen to.
Through Wippi’s voice AI, children can interact with characters including Ram, Krishna, Alice and Cinderella. They can ask questions, make choices and participate as stories unfold. The company says its products are designed for children aged four years and above.
That interactive format is central to Wippi’s product approach. Instead of relying on a conventional screen-based experience, the startup is using conversational technology to create exchanges between children and familiar fictional or cultural characters.
More characters and new AI-powered products ahead
Wippi’s next phase will extend beyond the products it already offers.
Alongside expanding its character library and creating more original content, the company is working on collectible figurines and additional AI-powered conversational learning products.
The fresh funding gives Wippi more resources to develop those products while scaling the technology behind them. Expanding its engineering and AI teams will be a key part of that effort, particularly as the startup works on improving its voice-based interactions and broadening its direct relationship with consumers.
Its plan to reach 15,000 families within a year also gives the company a measurable near-term target as it expands in India and looks towards overseas markets.
For Wippi, the $1.2 million seed round is therefore tied to several parallel priorities: advancing its voice AI, building out its technical team, developing more content and characters, growing its direct-to-consumer business and preparing a wider portfolio of conversational products for children.
