Saudi gaming startup Takahouse founded by Salman S Nasser has raised $1.5 million in funding from Impact46, giving the company fresh capital to develop new products and widen its mobile game portfolio.
The funding marks an important next step for Takahouse, which has so far built much of its audience and product experience around WhistGame, its first title.
Founded in 2018, Takahouse develops and publishes mobile games centred on social interaction. WhistGame was launched in 2021 and has since attracted more than 140,000 users, providing the company with a sizeable player base from which to study how people engage with its games.
That user base is also playing a role in what comes next.
Takahouse says the performance of WhistGame is helping it understand player behaviour, improve retention and shape the development of additional games aimed at regional audiences. Rather than treating its first title as a standalone success, the company is using the experience gained from WhistGame as a foundation for its next phase of product development.
The $1.5 million investment from Impact46, a venture capital firm based in Riyadh, will support the development of new products as well as improvements to Takahouse’s existing capabilities. The broader objective is to move the business beyond reliance on a single game and establish a wider portfolio of mobile titles.
Takahouse keeps social interaction at the centre of its gaming strategy
While Takahouse is preparing to broaden its portfolio, the company is not moving away from the approach that shaped WhistGame.
Its strategy remains focused on mobile games that blend entertainment with communication between players. The model developed through WhistGame is expected to serve as the base for future releases, keeping social interaction at the heart of the company’s product direction.
That makes the 140,000-plus WhistGame audience particularly relevant to Takahouse’s next chapter. Beyond representing users of its first game, that audience gives the company an existing base from which it can examine engagement patterns, retention and player behaviour before bringing additional titles to market.
For Takahouse, the funding therefore represents more than capital for another game. It gives the startup room to turn lessons from its first product into a broader development strategy.
Impact46 backs Takahouse’s move beyond a single game
The investment also adds another Saudi-developed gaming company to the growing flow of capital around the country’s gaming and digital entertainment sector.
Takahouse’s expansion comes as investment activity continues around locally developed gaming businesses, including companies working across game development, publishing and digital entertainment.
For the startup itself, however, the immediate priorities are clearly defined: strengthen product development, improve existing capabilities and build additional games without abandoning the socially driven model that helped establish WhistGame.
With fresh capital from Impact46 and more than 140,000 users already reached through its first title, Takahouse is now moving from proving one mobile gaming product to testing whether that experience can support a broader portfolio.
