Bengaluru-based deeptech robotics startup Mowito, also known as Mowita AI, has raised $3 million in a pre-seed funding round to expand its AI-powered robotic automation business.
The round saw participation from Version One Ventures, All India Capital, iSeed, Vaibhav Domkundwar, Unisol, Adarsh Kulkarni of Foundry Robotics, and Ashish Kulkarni of Coformer.ai.
Founded by Puru Rastogi, Adityanag Nagesh and Safar V, Mowito is building robotic systems for warehouses, dark stores and manufacturing facilities. Its technology is designed for work that still depends heavily on repetitive manual handling, including picking, packing, sorting, inspection and assembly.
At the centre of Mowito’s product is a vision-guided robotic arm that can handle objects of different shapes and sizes, including items it has not seen before. The company says its proprietary physical AI software allows these robotic systems to work with existing factory and warehouse infrastructure. A no-code reconfiguration interface is also part of the offering, reducing the need for specialised engineers every time a process changes.
The fresh capital will be used to expand Mowito’s business in the US, strengthen its engineering and sales teams, and increase deployments across automotive and electronics manufacturers.
For manufacturers, the pitch is straightforward: automate complex shop-floor tasks without making every production change a programming project. Mowito is targeting industries such as FMCG, automotive, electronics and pharmaceuticals, where speed, consistency and flexibility are increasingly becoming part of day-to-day operations.
Puru Rastogi, co-founder and chief executive officer of Mowito, said manufacturing has reached a stage where hardware is no longer the bottleneck. “Software is. Factory robots shouldn’t need to be reprogrammed every time production changes. We believe robots should learn the same way people do: by observing and repeating. This funding allows us to accelerate that vision, expand globally, and bring Physical AI to more manufacturing environments.”
The funding gives Mowito early backing to build in a category where robotics is moving beyond fixed, repetitive automation and toward systems that can adapt to changing production needs. For now, the company’s focus is clear: more deployments, stronger teams and a wider push into manufacturing environments where physical AI can reduce dependence on manual processes.
