Hisabkitab has raised an undisclosed amount in a seed funding round from a group of angel investors and high-net-worth individuals. The transaction values the AI-powered accounting software startup at Rs 20 crore.
The company plans to use the capital to strengthen its artificial intelligence capabilities and build a broader set of automated accounting tools for small and medium businesses.
Its product roadmap includes an AI Intelligence Layer, an Audit Agent, a Tax Preparation Agent, an Accounts Receivable Agent and an Accounts Payable Agent. These tools are intended to automate routine financial processes that businesses often handle through separate applications or manual workflows.
Building a single accounting platform for SMEs
Founded in 2022 by Shrigopal Malani and Abhinav Sharma, Hisabkitab offers a cloud-native platform that brings billing, bookkeeping, compliance and financial reporting together in one system.
The startup’s pitch centres on consolidation. Instead of requiring businesses to manage different subscriptions for different accounting functions, Hisabkitab is positioning its platform as an end-to-end alternative.
The company says this approach can give business owners better visibility into their finances while reducing the time spent moving information between disconnected tools.
Hisabkitab is based in Surat and primarily serves small and medium enterprises. It operates in a segment that includes established accounting platforms such as Tally, Vyapar, Khatabook, MyBillBook, Zoho Books and Busy. Manual accounting through Excel spreadsheets also remains one of the workflows the company is seeking to replace.
Hisabkitab reports more than 2,700 paying SMEs
Hisabkitab said it has attracted more than 30,000 sign-ups and is serving over 2,700 paying small and medium businesses.
The company also reported that its monthly revenue had grown nearly sixfold, rising from Rs 4.18 lakh in May 2025 to Rs 25.1 lakh in June 2026.
The reported growth gives the startup a base from which to invest in product development and wider distribution. The next phase will involve both technology expansion and a stronger effort to bring more businesses onto the platform.
Funding to support customer acquisition and hiring
Alongside its AI development plans, Hisabkitab intends to increase spending on customer acquisition through performance marketing and other channels.
The startup will also scale its CA Partner Program across India. The programme is designed to extend the platform’s reach through chartered accountants who work directly with businesses on bookkeeping, taxation and compliance.
Part of the seed capital will be used to recruit employees across product and operations. These hires are expected to support the rollout of the planned AI agents and the company’s broader expansion.
For Hisabkitab, the seed round is less about adding another standalone accounting feature and more about building a connected financial operating system for SMEs. Its progress will now depend on how effectively it converts its growing user base into long-term paying customers while delivering the automation promised in its product roadmap.
