Hakimo, a physical AI startup building an AI-powered security monitoring platform, has raised $12 million in a growth funding round led by Zigg Capital.

The round also saw participation from Neotribe Ventures, Vertex Ventures US and Rocketship.vc. With this investment, Hakimo’s total funding has reached $32 million.

The company will use the fresh capital to speed up product development, enter new markets and customer segments, and expand its team. Hakimo is also looking to take its platform beyond core security use cases into safety, compliance and customer experience.

Founded by Indian-origin entrepreneurs Sam Joseph and Sagar Honnungar, Hakimo builds AI-led monitoring tools that work with existing surveillance camera systems. Its platform uses computer vision and artificial intelligence to detect incidents, monitor properties and support security teams in real time, without requiring businesses to replace their current hardware.

The company says it has tripled its revenue over the past 12 months, marking its third straight year of threefold revenue growth. During the same period, Hakimo expanded its customer base to more than 100 clients and doubled its workforce.

Hakimo works with a mix of large enterprises, real estate operators and industrial properties, including Fortune 500 companies. The startup recently introduced AI-powered forensic search, a feature designed to help users review and analyze security footage more efficiently.

The company says its platform allows a single operator to monitor areas that would otherwise need several security personnel. Customers have also reported fewer security incidents and lower operating costs after deploying the platform.

Based in Menlo Park, California, Hakimo is positioning itself at the intersection of physical security and AI automation. Its pitch is simple: make existing camera networks more intelligent, while reducing the manual burden on security teams.

The fundraise comes at a time when physical AI is drawing growing investor interest in India and globally. Startups in the space are building data pipelines, AI models and automation systems that can help machines understand and respond to real-world environments.

Recent activity in the sector includes Neocambrian AI’s India-focused robotics data factory, Human Behavior’s $5.2 million seed round and Bengaluru-based Mowito’s $3 million raise led by Version One Ventures.

For Hakimo, the latest round gives it more room to deepen its product stack and widen its reach as demand rises for AI systems that can work inside real-world infrastructure rather than only in software environments.
