Gourmet pizza brand The Dough Therapy has raised Rs 5.25 crore in a seed funding round at a valuation of Rs 35 crore, as it looks to double its outlet count over the next 12 months.
The round was led by Michigan Capital Advisors, formerly known as Melwani Finance, with participation from Equiglobe Investment. The company plans to use the new capital to strengthen its presence in Mumbai and support its expansion into other markets.
60% of Fresh Capital to Fund Expansion
The Dough Therapy has outlined a clear allocation plan for the Rs 5.25 crore it has raised.
Around 60% of the funds will go towards expansion, while 15% will be spent on marketing. The remaining 25% will be directed towards supply chain infrastructure, centralised operations and kitchen technology.
The funding comes as the brand prepares for its next stage of growth after expanding from its first outlet to 10 outlets across Mumbai.
From One Outlet to 10 in Mumbai
Founded in 2020 by Abhishek Dedhia, Mohit Chheda and Gaurav Majrekar, The Dough Therapy has built its presence around gourmet pizzas, with more than 30 vegetarian and vegan varieties on its menu.
The brand said it has developed a mix of new and returning customers, giving it a base for its planned expansion.
With 10 outlets currently operating across Mumbai, the company now intends to double that number within the next 12 months.
The Dough Therapy Targets 20 Outlets
The immediate target for The Dough Therapy is to reach 20 outlets over the next year. Beyond Mumbai, the brand also plans to enter new cities across India as it takes its gourmet pizza offering to additional markets.
Its expansion model will not rely on a single outlet format. The company plans to use a combination of company-owned outlets, select dine-in formats and franchise partnerships.
The approach is designed to support its growth across different markets while allowing the brand to build on its existing outlet network.
Founders Behind The Dough Therapy
The Dough Therapy was founded in 2020 by Abhishek Dedhia, Mohit Chheda and Gaurav Majrekar. The founders have taken the brand from a single outlet to a 10-outlet business in Mumbai.
With the latest seed funding, the company is now preparing for a larger expansion push, with 20 outlets targeted over the next 12 months and plans to enter new Indian cities.
The funding will also strengthen areas such as supply chain infrastructure, centralised operations and kitchen technology as the brand scales its network.
