Meta has launched Meta Startup School in India, a new three-month programme aimed at helping early-stage consumer brands sharpen their digital growth strategies, make better use of advertising tools and gain direct guidance from agencies, investors and industry experts.

The first cohort will begin on September 1, 2026, with 200 startups expected to participate. Beyond classroom-style learning, participating companies will be paired with agency partners for three months of consultation without retainer fees, making hands-on support one of the programme’s more notable features.

Applications for the inaugural cohort are currently open through the Meta Startup School programme page.

What is Meta Startup School?

Meta Startup School is designed for early-stage consumer businesses that have begun finding traction but are still working out how to scale customer acquisition, advertising and revenue more effectively.

The programme combines platform education with practical guidance. Meta says participating startups will receive access to its tools and resources, structured learning sessions, agency support and engagement with venture capital firms and industry specialists.

The initiative comes against a backdrop of Indian startups increasingly relying on digital channels to reach customers. Meta’s premise is that capital alone may not be enough for a young consumer company trying to grow. Decisions around marketing investment, platform use and internal capabilities can become equally important as a business moves beyond its initial traction.

Who can apply for Meta Startup School?

The eligibility criteria make the programme more targeted than a general startup accelerator.

The first cohort is open to early-stage consumer brands across different funding stages. However, a business must meet some additional conditions.

To qualify, the startup should:

  • not be directly managed by Meta
  • not already be working with an agency
  • be at a stage where it is beginning to use Meta’s platforms to scale revenue

These conditions suggest the programme is aimed particularly at businesses that have started building momentum but have not yet developed a mature agency-led advertising operation.

Meta has not specified a particular funding round that applicants must have completed. The announcement states that the 200 participating consumer brands can come from across funding stages.

How can startups apply?

Applications for the first Meta Startup School cohort are already open.

Interested businesses need to apply through the official Meta Startup School programme page. Meta’s announcement does not specify an application deadline, so founders should rely on the programme page for the latest application details and submission requirements rather than assuming a closing date.

The programme itself begins on September 1, 2026.

What will selected startups receive?

The programme is built around a mix of education and direct implementation support rather than lectures alone.

One of the biggest elements is three months of complimentary agency consultation. Selected startups will be matched with agency partners that can help them improve growth and advertising strategies without charging retainer fees during the programme. Meta says the support is intended to help businesses progress from testing different approaches toward scaling more effectively.

Participants will also take part in structured sessions covering Meta’s tools and solutions. These sessions will include opportunities to learn from venture capital firms and industry experts.

Another part of the curriculum will focus on Meta’s AI-powered and advertising tools, including how they can be used for customer acquisition, campaign performance and broader business outcomes.

Startups will additionally get opportunities to interact with venture capital firms and other experts on issues connected with growth and building sustainable businesses.

The programme also promises hands-on assistance aimed at helping companies put what they learn into practice as they scale their activity on Meta’s platforms.

Which venture capital firms are involved?

Meta has confirmed three investment firms for the first cohort:

Fireside Ventures, DSG Consumer Partners and V3 Ventures.

The company has also indicated that more venture capital firms could become involved as the programme develops.

Their participation gives founders access to perspectives beyond advertising and platform strategy, bringing investors into discussions around the wider challenges involved in moving from early traction to a more sustainable business.

The first cohort will end with a demo day

The programme is scheduled to run for three months and conclude with a demo day.

That event will bring participating startups together with venture capital firms, direct-to-consumer founders and other members of the startup ecosystem.

The format gives companies an opportunity not only to complete the programme but also to demonstrate how they have applied its lessons to their businesses.

Meta also plans for participating startups to share their experiences during the programme, creating an ongoing exchange between founders, agency partners, specialists and investors.

Why Meta is launching the programme

Meta is positioning Startup School as a way to help younger consumer businesses build the skills needed to turn early traction into scalable growth.

Gaurav Jeet Singh, Director for Agencies and VC Partnerships at Meta India, said early-stage startups can benefit significantly from having the right combination of knowledge, tools and guidance.

He said the programme is intended to help founders make better use of Meta’s advertising and AI-powered tools while connecting them with agency partners, venture capital firms and the wider startup ecosystem.

Rather than focusing solely on fundraising, Meta Startup School is therefore built around a more operational question: once a consumer startup has found its first customers, how does it improve marketing, acquisition and advertising enough to keep growing?

For the 200 companies entering the first cohort, the answer will be tested over three months through a combination of platform education, investor interaction and direct agency support.
