TV Journalist and Anchor Shivangi Thakur is about to assume an editorial position as Deputy News Editor at Republic Bharat, following which she will join from Zee News.
July 1, 2026: Shivangi Thakur, a familiar face in Hindi television news, is moving to Republic Bharat as Deputy News Editor. Her next assignment comes shortly after she stepped down from her position as Assistant Editor at Zee News.
Thakur brings more than a decade of experience in television journalism, with a career that has moved across some of India’s leading Hindi newsrooms. She has worked with Aaj Tak, India Today, TV9 Bharatvarsh, News18 India and Zee News, building her profile both as an anchor and as a reporter on the ground.
Her reporting career has covered a wide range of beats, including politics, crime, natural disasters and major national developments. She has also reported from conflict zones, including the Russia-Ukraine war and the Israel-Hamas conflict, work that placed her in some of the most difficult field conditions for television journalists.
At Republic Bharat, Thakur’s appointment is expected to add editorial experience to the Hindi news channel’s newsroom. The move also comes at a time when leadership roles in television newsrooms continue to draw attention as channels strengthen their editorial teams with experienced faces.
An official announcement on her appointment is still awaited.
