Gurugram-based food brand KisaanSay has raised Rs 34 crore, equivalent to $3.6 million, in a Series A funding round led by NABVENTURES through its AgriSURE Fund. The round also saw participation from other investors, reinforcing confidence in the company’s approach to building a transparent and farmer-focused food supply chain.
The latest funding marks a significant step forward for KisaanSay as it looks to strengthen its presence in the rapidly evolving food and agri-tech sector. The company plans to use the capital to expand its distribution network and reach a wider consumer base across India.
Building on Early Investor Confidence
Prior to this round, KisaanSay had raised $2 million in a pre-seed funding round in January last year. This earlier investment was led by Jungle Ventures through its First Cheque@Jungle initiative, along with participation from senior leaders in the food industry.
The continued backing from institutional investors reflects growing interest in startups that are working to improve transparency and efficiency in agricultural supply chains while creating value for both producers and consumers.
Focused Use of Funds for Scale and Technology
The company has outlined clear plans for deploying the newly raised capital. A major portion will be directed toward scaling its distribution capabilities, allowing KisaanSay to expand its footprint beyond its current markets.
In addition, the startup aims to strengthen its marketing and brand-building efforts to improve visibility and customer engagement. The funding will also support team expansion, enabling the company to build a more robust organisational structure.
Another key priority is the development of a full-stack technology infrastructure. This is expected to enhance operational efficiency, streamline supply chain processes, and support long-term scalability.
A Farm-Centric Model Rooted in Transparency
Founded in 2022 by Nitin Puri, Vaishali Mehta, and Manoj Karki, KisaanSay operates on a single-origin sourcing model. The company offers a range of food products that are positioned as authentic and traceable, with a focus on maintaining product integrity from farm to consumer.
At the core of its model is the concept of provenance, where the origin of each product is clearly defined and communicated. This approach is designed to build trust among consumers while ensuring that farmers receive fair value for their produce.
The startup emphasizes minimal processing and packaging at the source, carried out by farmer enterprises in their own facilities. This method not only preserves product quality but also supports local value addition in rural areas.

Expanding Product Portfolio and Farmer Network
KisaanSay currently offers more than 100 stock keeping units across 12 product categories. Its portfolio includes a wide range of food items sourced directly from farming communities.
The company works through co-branding and co-profit partnerships with 25 farmer enterprises. Through these collaborations, it is connected to approximately 50,000 farmers across nine states, creating a large and diverse sourcing network.
This partnership-driven approach allows farmers to play an active role in the value chain, from production to packaging, ensuring that benefits are shared more equitably.
Omnichannel Distribution Strategy in Place
KisaanSay has adopted a multi-channel distribution strategy to reach consumers. Its products are available through its direct-to-consumer website, as well as major e-commerce and quick commerce platforms.
In addition to online channels, the company has also established a presence in select retail stores across Delhi-NCR. This combination of digital and physical distribution channels enables it to cater to a broad range of customers with varying purchasing preferences.
AgriSURE Fund’s Role in Supporting Rural Innovation
The AgriSURE Fund, through which this investment was made, is a SEBI-registered Category II Alternative Investment Fund. It is jointly sponsored by the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmer Welfare and National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development.
Managed by NABVENTURES, the fund focuses on investing in technology-driven startups operating in the agriculture and rural sectors. Its objective is to strengthen farm-to-market linkages and promote sustainable rural development by supporting innovative business models.
With this latest funding round, KisaanSay is positioned to accelerate its growth while continuing to build a transparent and farmer-centric food ecosystem.
