Education is an ongoing process and the new edutainment app ‘Seekho’ reinforces this very ideal. It uses the high population of India to its advantage by providing access to informational content to billions of Indians out there.
Purpose of the App
Be it a shop owner who wants to know how to increase his monthly revenue or an amateur looking to start his own YouTube channel, Seekho appears as the perfect solution to learn these extra skills. It provides practical and engaging content around tech, money and business that is delivered in 2-3 minutes.
Founders’ Story
The app was born after Founder and CEO, Rohit Choudhary, felt a passion to build something meaningful for the masses. His education at IIT Kanpur played a key role. Along with fellow classmates Keertay Agarwal and Yash Banwani, Seekho was launched in the year 2020.
His corporate days at Toppr where he worked as a Product Manager from July 2017 to September 2018 and Kuku FM where he served as a Product Lead from October 2018 to February 2021 helped Rohit prepare a roadmap for the app. His experience at Kuku FM especially gave him a nudge as he mostly worked to develop a platform that catered to listeners and publishers of regional audio content surrounding education.
He brought with him a wealth of experience in product management and content development. Seekho was envisioned as an educational platform that could harness the power of video content to make learning more accessible and engaging. By combining elements of gamification with educational content, it aims to provide a unique learning experience that appeals to the Indian masses. The Indian audience is not fixated on what they want to learn. Thus, the Netflix model of the app focuses on making learning fun and easy and provides users a liberty to experiment.

Subscription Model Turns the Tide
In May 2022 the founders took a bold decision that would define Seekho’s trajectory. With their backs against the wall, they took a leap of faith, they made the platform paid-only, with a subscription model. The bet paid off spectacularly, and today, Seekho boasts more than 500,000 paying subscribers. It offers monthly and annual plans starting at INR 149 per month, while non-subscribers can access limited content with advertisements. The platform is available on iOS and Android, competing with established players like Unacademy, Coursera, edX, and Udemy.
Strong Human Resources
Another reason for the startup’s exceptional success is employment of less but highly talented individuals who are well versed with the core values and principles of the business. All demand is catered to by twelve creators running high quality content to get maximum value in minimum time. The team is hired based on personal trust and relations which ensures no discrepancy in terms of work done.
Recent Investements
Recently the platform has secured $8 million in its Series A funding round, with Lightspeed leading the investment. The round also saw participation from Elevation Capital, which has strong confidence in Seekho’s mission to become India’s premier platform for lifelong learning.
Seekho is not only targeting the Indian market but also setting its sights on global expansion. The platform’s goal is to become a go-to resource for learning and professional networking on a worldwide scale. Rohit’s mission to make a difference, stemming from a patriotic heart, is on its way to capture and grow the minds of millions.
