PiEST Systems: Tech Education with a Personal Mission

In the heart of Bangalore’s tech lane, PiEST Systems has quietly become a powerhouse in technical education, transforming the lives of thousands of aspiring engineers. But behind its rapid growth is a story of grit, vision, and a founder determined to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world skills.

The Genesis of PiEST Systems

PiEST Systems was born from a simple observation and a personal impetus. Madhusmita Choudhury, the founder and CEO, realised early in her career that while embedded systems powers almost everything, practical training in this field was lacking in India. Her journey began not in a fancy office, but in her own home, where she invested her savings of ₹50,000 to hire an embedded software teacher and invited her first batch of students.

“I felt like things were falling into place. I took out my savings of Rs 50,000, posted a job online for an embedded software teacher, and invited her to my place,” Madhusmita recalls.

This hands-on, grassroot level approach quickly took pace. Word spread, and soon her living room was flooding with students eager for practical, job-oriented training. By 2020, PiEST Systems was formalized, expanding into a full-fledged training institute with both online and offline modules, expert faculty, and a curriculum tailored to industry needs.

What Sets PiEST Systems Apart?

PiEST Systems isn’t just another edtech startup. Its core impetus is to blend deep technical knowledge with hands-on experience. The institute specializes in Embedded Systems, VLSI (Very Large Scale Integration), AUTOSAR, and Embedded IoT—fields at the forefront of automotive, aerospace, and robotics innovation.

  • Practical Learning: Students are exposed to real-world projects, at the institute’s in-house Client ODC Center, ensuring they’re industry-ready from day one.
  • Comprehensive Curriculum: The training covers a spectrum from embedded architecture and programming languages (C, C++, Python, Rust) to advanced protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet, DoIP, UDS, FlexRay).
  • Placement Success: With a placement rate as high as 96-99%, PiEST alumni have landed roles at leading MNCs including Mercedes Benz, Bosch, Continental, and TCS.
  • Global Reach: The institute has trained over 7,000 students, with 2,000+ from abroad, and offers both online and offline learning to cater to a diverse, global audience.

The Human Touch: Madhusmita’s Leadership

Madhusmita Choudhury’s leadership style is deeply personal and empathetic. She understands the anxieties and aspirations of her students because she’s been in their shoes. Her approach is not just about imparting knowledge but about nurturing confidence and resilience.

“A lot of students simply want to learn enough to land a job… Others are in for a longer game and want to develop in-depth skills. For them, there is a separate training module,” she explains.

Her vision extends beyond education—she wants to empower companies, especially startups, with the technical expertise they need to innovate and compete globally. PiEST Systems now collaborates with industry partners, offering consulting and R&D services in embedded systems, IoT, and robotics.

Achievements and Future Ambitions

From its humble beginnings, PiEST Systems has grown into a leader in tech education, making revenues of ₹60 lakhs in FY24 and projecting ₹1 crore for FY25. Its alumni network is a proof to its impact, with graduates driving innovation at top firms worldwide.

Looking ahead, Madhusmita plans on taking PiEST Systems toward greater heights—focusing on R&D, developing proprietary products, and contributing to the #MakeInIndia initiative, while maintaining the personal touch that defined her story
