The Indian skincare industry has every colour in its palette when it comes to choosing skincare types, whether it be Ayurveda, exotic botanicals, or forest elixirs. People rely more on ‘Natural Skincare’, but Conscious Chemist– A leading science-based skincare brand setting a new benchmark in the landscape with its range of Active-first products.
The brand is challenging India’s “natural is best” skincare belief by offering science-led, clinically tested formulations designed to address concerns such as acne, aging, pigmentation, and more.
Conscious Chemist: The Mission
The brand was launched in the year 2020 by the founder duo Robin Gupta (CEO) and Prakher Mathur (COO), Galgotias University alumni, with a mission to create a niche that delivers effective, accessible products underpinned by active ingredients.
Right from the start, they focused on “active-first” formulations using ingredients like retinol, lactic acid, urea, and others, while pairing them with sharp, digital-first growth strategies.
Both Robin and Prakher believe that the core skin problems need proven, science-based ingredients, not age-old myths in fancy packaging.
Yet, in a market where image often matters more than results, science tends to take a backseat. This is why they created a range of products that can target a particular skin condition and treat it with research-backed solutions.
Active-First Skincare: A Science-Driven Differentiator
The founders claim that their brand isn’t just another beauty label but a science-driven differentiator that is based on research, transparency, and innovation. Each product highlights clinically effective ingredients, empowering customers to choose smartly rather than just follow trends. Their AI-enabled skin consultations further personalize the experience, a nod to their tech-savvy edge.
Skincare Products for Ingredient Conscious Customers
This brand targets millennials and Gen Z customers who read labels as closely as they scroll through reels, and want more than pretty packaging. Conscious Chemist is rewriting skincare with transparency and science at its core. Their products are packed with clinically tested ingredients like retinol, lactic acid, and urea, so that the conscious generation can have the transparency of what works on their skin.
Scaling Up: From ₹32 Cr to a ₹100 Cr Dream
FY2025 remains as the turning point for Conscious Chemist, the brand has hit the mark of annual revenue of ₹32 crore, and has the intention to triple it by next year, touching ₹100 crore ARR.

- Onboarding Apoorv Gautam: The Founder and Managing Director of Atomic Capital, Apoorv Gautam, became one of the board members in September 2024 and has provided strategic muscle to the company
- ₹1 crore Indebt Funding from Recur Club: This funding helped open new doors for the brand as it activated the offline presence through retail chains like Health & Glow and Shoppers Stop, and also helped in expanding the product line
Conscious Chemist’s rise shows that skincare built on honesty, science, and real results can stand out in a crowded market. By putting proven ingredients ahead of empty claims, the brand is earning the trust of a new generation of consumers who demand both transparency and performance.
With its clear vision and growing momentum, it’s well on its way to becoming a name that reshapes how India thinks about skincare.
