BYTES Secures ₹20 Lakh Grant to Revolutionize Two-Wheeler Safety

BYTES, an AI-driven Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) designed for two-wheeler mobility, has emerged from stealth mode to secure a significant boost in funding. The company, founded in August 2024 by Prakhar Agrawal and Aayush Kumar, has been selected as part of the second cohort for 2024 by Nikhil Kamath’s WTFund, a leading investment platform for early-stage startups. As part of this partnership, BYTES has been awarded a ₹20 lakh non-dilutive grant to accelerate its mission to improve road safety using cutting-edge artificial intelligence and computer vision technology. The funds will be utilized to initiate pilot programs with top two-wheeler Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), deploying BYTES’ cutting-edge AI safety system in real-time. In a company release, the programs will enable the technology to be tested in actual operating conditions, further enhancing its ability.

“With the support of WTFund and our other strategic partners, we aim to enhance the safety of riders everywhere. Our AI-powered system has the potential to reduce the frequency of road accidents, making two-wheeled transportation safer,” said Prakhar Agrawal, co-founder of BYTES.

BYTES’ proprietary technology leverages advanced AI models and vision systems to provide real-time alerts and intervene when necessary by taking partial control of the vehicle during critical moments. This innovative approach is designed to help riders avoid accidents and mitigate the risk of fatalities on the road.

Despite the rise of two-wheelers across the world, two-wheeler road safety is a serious concern. More than 50 million road accidents occur on the planet every year, and 60% of them consist of two-wheeler accidents, it has discovered through recent research studies. Owing to human error, 90% of the accidents occur, and insufficient security measures increase the chances of fatal injuries by a factor of 40%.

Stepping up to the challenge, BYTES is committed to creating a world where no human life is unnecessarily lost in any two-wheeler accident. The company aims to bridge the massive two-wheeler safety gap with an scalable technology-driven solution to minimize fatalities.
