Kim Kardashian has dressed up as some memorable characters over the years, but her first Halloween costume of 2026 is a little more personal. This time, the reality star found inspiration much closer to home, choosing to transform herself into her 13-year-old daughter, North West.
On October 20, Kardashian unveiled the look through a series of Instagram photographs, recreating North’s striking appearance from the promotional images for her debut EP, N0rth4evr, released in May.
The resemblance was deliberate, right down to the electric-blue hair, dramatic eyelashes, elaborate nail art and gothic-inspired clothing.
Kardashian kept her Instagram caption simple, writing, “Halloween 2026” alongside a zombie emoji.
Kim Kardashian Recreates North West’s Signature Look
The SKIMS founder went beyond simply wearing a blue wig. Her costume featured an aquamarine hairstyle, silver facial studs, oversized accessories and intricate black-and-white nail art.
She also wore a black N0rth4evr T-shirt and a glittering skull necklace, closely matching the styling North adopted while promoting her music.
Photographs showed Kardashian posing with her hands near her face, mirroring the teenager’s distinctive promotional images.
The transformation offered a change from Kardashian’s usual Halloween approach. Rather than portraying a fictional character or another established celebrity, she recreated her daughter’s own artistic identity.
Her family was quick to appreciate the resemblance.
Khloé Kardashian commented, “Twins!!!!!!” while Kris Jenner responded, “This is so fun!!!!!”
The Costume Comes During North West’s Growing Music Career
The choice of costume carries particular significance because North has been developing her career as a musician.
Her six-track debut EP, N0rth4evr, arrived in May 2026, with North credited as a producer on every song.
She has also made several notable appearances onstage this year. In April, she performed alongside her father, Ye, formerly known as Kanye West. She subsequently appeared with rapper Molly Santana at Rolling Loud in May.
June marked another milestone when North delivered her first solo festival performance at Lyrical Lemonade’s Summer Smash Festival in Chicago.
Her musical collaborations have included work with Ye and Ty Dolla $ign on “Talking,” FKA Twigs on “Childlike Things,” and Lil Novi, the son of Lil Wayne, on “Mula Tha Root of All Evil.”
North has been equally outspoken about wanting to pursue music while still young.
Speaking to Dazed in an interview published in August, she described being advised to delay her career as the worst advice she had received.
“This is my hobby, this is what I like to do, this is what I wanna do with my life,” she said.
Discussing performing, she added, “I wish I’d done it earlier. I’ve been ready.”
Although a planned 14-city tour with Molly Santana was cancelled in July without a public explanation, North has continued to express enthusiasm for making and performing music.
Halloween Has Long Been a Family Affair for the Kardashians
This is not the first time Kim Kardashian and North West have shared a Halloween theme.
In 2025, Kardashian joined North and Kris Jenner to recreate TikTok personalities Jay Guapõ, Pink Cardigan and Chrissy G. The family adopted wigs and disguises for the occasion, with Kardashian also wearing fake facial hair.
Two years earlier, Kardashian and North dressed as characters from the 1995 film Clueless, portraying Cher Horowitz and Dionne Davenport, famously played by Alicia Silverstone and Stacey Dash.
Kardashian has also become known for her elaborate solo transformations.
For Halloween 2025, she worked with drag performer Alexis Stone to create an albino alligator costume, complete with realistic prosthetics, a tail, contact lenses and artificial nails.
In 2022, she recreated Mystique from X-Men, wearing a blue latex bodysuit and a red wig.
One of her more unusual choices came in 2015, when she dressed as herself from the 2013 Met Gala, recreating the makeup and hairstyle from her earlier red-carpet appearance.
A Different Kind of Halloween Tribute
Kardashian’s latest costume stands apart from those elaborate transformations because its inspiration is her own daughter.
North’s blue-haired appearance has become closely associated with her developing musical identity, and Kardashian’s recreation brings that look into the family’s longstanding Halloween tradition.
Instead of borrowing a costume from pop culture, Kardashian has taken inspiration from someone helping create it.
For Halloween 2026, North West is the character her mother chose to become.
