Samsung’s next flagship smartphone generation could bring a notable battery upgrade, with new certification listings pointing to larger power packs for the Galaxy S27 Ultra and Galaxy S27 Pro. The leaked specifications suggest that the Ultra model could move to a marketed 5,700mAh battery, while the Pro variant may feature a 5,200mAh unit.

The battery packs have reportedly appeared in Safety Korea certification listings, accompanied by images of the physical components. The listings identify two model numbers, EB-BS958DBY and EB-BS957CBY, associated with the upcoming Galaxy S27 series.

Samsung has yet to officially announce the phones or confirm their battery specifications. For now, the reported capacities and charging speeds should be treated as leaks rather than final product details.

Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra Battery Could Reach 5,700mAh

The Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra is tipped to feature a battery with a rated capacity of 5,534mAh. This figure is expected to translate into a marketed capacity of 5,700mAh, according to the leaked details.

If accurate, the upgrade would mark a significant change from the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra, which has a marketed battery capacity of 5,000mAh.

The difference amounts to 700mAh, or a 14% increase in marketed battery capacity. A larger battery could give Samsung more room to improve endurance, although actual battery life would also depend on the phone’s processor, display, software and power management.

The certification images reportedly show the physical battery unit, but the labels do not clearly reveal the exact rated capacity. The technical figures have instead been associated with regulatory information accompanying the leak.

Galaxy S27 Pro May Feature a 5,200mAh Battery

The Galaxy S27 Pro has also surfaced in the reported certification records, with its battery listed under model number EB-BS957CBY.

The component is tipped to have a rated capacity of 5,087mAh, which could be marketed as a 5,200mAh battery.

This would give the Pro model a larger battery than the 5,000mAh marketed capacity of the Galaxy S26 Ultra. However, the comparison concerns reported battery capacities, and Samsung has not confirmed the specifications or the final positioning of its upcoming Pro model.

Both battery packs are reportedly manufactured by Zhuhai CosMX Power Jinwan, a subsidiary based in China. Their appearance in certification records provides an early indication of the hardware Samsung may be preparing for its next flagship lineup, but it does not confirm that the final retail devices will use identical specifications.

Galaxy S27 Ultra and S27 Pro Could Support 60W Charging

Battery capacity is not the only potential upgrade. The Galaxy S27 Ultra and Galaxy S27 Pro are also tipped to support 60W wired charging.

If the reported specifications hold, this would represent an increase over the 45W wired charging supported by the Galaxy S26 Ultra.

The combination of larger batteries and faster wired charging could address two areas that matter to flagship smartphone buyers: how long a device lasts between charges and how quickly it can recharge when its battery runs low.

However, charging performance depends on more than the advertised wattage. Actual charging times can vary with temperature, battery level, charger compatibility and power management. Samsung has not officially confirmed 60W charging for either upcoming model.

Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra vs Galaxy S26 Ultra: Expected Battery Differences

The reported specifications suggest that the Galaxy S27 Ultra could deliver upgrades in both battery capacity and wired charging speed.

SpecificationGalaxy S26 UltraGalaxy S27 Ultra (Expected)
Marketed battery capacity5,000mAh5,700mAh
Rated battery capacityApproximately 4,855mAh5,534mAh
Wired charging45W60W
StatusExisting modelUnconfirmed leak

The expected 700mAh increase in marketed capacity stands out as the most significant difference in the comparison. If Samsung adopts the reported specifications, the Galaxy S27 Ultra could offer a larger battery while also increasing its maximum supported wired charging power.

Still, the larger capacity alone does not establish how much longer the phone will last. Battery endurance can only be assessed properly once the final hardware and real-world performance are known.

Samsung Galaxy S27 Series Launch Expected in January 2027

The Samsung Galaxy S27 series is expected to launch in January 2027, according to the information accompanying the leak. The reported lineup could include four devices: the Galaxy S27, Galaxy S27+, Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra.

The possible addition of a Pro model would expand the range of options within Samsung’s flagship family. However, the final lineup, launch date and specifications remain unconfirmed.

For now, the Safety Korea battery listings offer an early look at two potential hardware changes in Samsung’s next flagship generation. If the reported figures prove accurate, the Galaxy S27 Ultra could receive a 700mAh battery-capacity increase over its predecessor, while both the Ultra and Pro models could move to 60W wired charging.

Samsung’s official announcement will ultimately determine whether these battery upgrades make it into the final devices.
