Robert Kelker-Kelly, known for playing Bo Brady on Days of Our Lives, has died at the age of 62. His death was reported on October 3 in Missouri. A cause of death has not been disclosed.
Kelker-Kelly became part of the long-running soap opera after taking over the role of Bo Brady from Peter Reckell in 1992. His time on the show saw him work alongside Kristian Alfonso and Lisa Rinna before Reckell returned to the role in 1995.
Kelker-Kelly’s run as Bo Brady
Bo Brady was among Kelker-Kelly’s best-known television roles. He stepped into the character in 1992 and remained with Days of Our Lives until Reckell reassumed the role in 1995.
His performance also earned him recognition at the Soap Opera Digest Awards. Kelker-Kelly won Outstanding Lead Actor in 1994 and later received the Hottest Soap Couple award in 1995 alongside Rinna.
A career that stretched beyond ‘Days of Our Lives’
Kelker-Kelly’s television career extended well beyond his stint on Days of Our Lives. He was also part of Another World, appearing in more than 400 episodes between 1987 and 1998.
During that run, he played several characters, including Sam Fowler, Bobby Reno and Shane Roberts.
The actor later appeared on General Hospital, where he played Stavros Cassadine. His run on the daytime soap included 42 episodes between 2001 and 2014.
Former co-star Lisa Rinna’s memoir revisited their past
Kelker-Kelly and Rinna’s professional relationship received renewed attention earlier this year following the publication of Rinna’s memoir, You Better Believe I’m Gonna Talk About It.
The book included allegations concerning their off-screen relationship. Kelker-Kelly did not respond to the allegations mentioned in the memoir.
