India’s small businesses will see improvements in logistics as AllCargo Gati, a leading company in express delivery and supply chain solutions, embarks on a new growth phase. CEO Ketan Kulkarni recently outlined the company’s plans to support small businesses through three main actions: building logistics parks, connecting with the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC), and investing in green energy.

Powering Small Businesses with Smarter Supply Chains

MSMEs are an important part of the Indian economy. They employ more than 110 million people and provide more than 30% of the GDP. However, logistical challenges including last-mile deliveries and exorbitant costs are commonplace. Given how digital commerce is changing how firms operate, Gati’s renewed emphasis on MSMEs comes at a critical moment.

Through a collaboration with ONDC, Gati hopes to offer small businesses direct access to technology-driven logistics services. This implies that MSMEs can have quick, inexpensive, and transparent delivery options without depending on big e-commerce companies when they sell on ONDC-compliant platforms. The goal of this approach is to make logistics easier for merchants in rural and non-metropolitan areas.

Expanding Infrastructure: Logistics Parks & Smart Warehousing

Kulkarni shared Gati’s plan to build modern logistics parks in India, including in smaller cities. These parks will act as centers for warehousing, sorting, and fulfillment, which many small and medium-sized businesses (MSMEs) cannot afford to set up on their own.

The facilities will use smart warehousing technologies to provide real-time inventory tracking, predictive analytics, and automation. This will help small businesses grow faster while keeping their costs low.

Greener, Cleaner Logistics for a Sustainable Future

AllCargo Gati is making investments in environmentally friendly infrastructure to support India’s green goals. Their logistics parks will include green transit options, EV charging stations, and solar power. In experimental programs, they have already started testing EVs for last-mile delivery, and they plan to spread this throughout major cities.

Gati is building a logistics system that benefits companies and the environment by emphasising accessibility and sustainability.

Why This Matters

For India’s MSMEs, reliable logistics isn’t a luxury, it’s a lifeline. AllCargo Gati’s ONDC-linked, green infrastructure strategy could help thousands of small businesses reduce costs, improve efficiency, and compete on a national scale.
