Indian electric vehicle maker Simple Energy has launched the Simple Ultra electric scooter at a starting ex-showroom price of ₹2.34 lakh. The new model strengthens the company’s expanding scooter lineup and joins its Gen 2 portfolio introduced earlier this year.

The Bengaluru-based company had previously opened bookings for the Simple Ultra and has now officially introduced the scooter to the market.

High-Capacity Battery and Long Claimed Range

The Simple Ultra is equipped with a 6.5 kWh battery pack. According to the company, the scooter delivers an IDC-certified range of 400 km on a single charge, placing it among the highest-range electric scooters currently announced in India.

Performance figures shared by the company indicate that the scooter can reach a top speed of 115 kmph. It is also claimed to accelerate from 0 to 40 kmph in 2.77 seconds.

Simple Energy has stated that the Ultra is India’s second-fastest electric scooter in its portfolio ranking, positioned behind the Simple One 5 kWh variant. However, detailed power and motor output figures have not been disclosed so far.

Rider-Focused Technology and Safety Features

The new scooter comes with several rider assistance and convenience features aimed at improving daily usability.

One of the key additions is traction control, which is offered with four selectable levels. This feature is designed to improve grip and riding confidence across varying road conditions.

The scooter also gets a seven-inch display console that shows key ride information such as battery percentage, estimated range, and other riding data. Digital dashboards have become a major differentiator in the premium electric scooter segment, and the Ultra enters the market with a feature-rich setup.

Expanding Retail Presence Across India

Alongside product launches, Simple Energy is also widening its sales and service footprint across the country.

The company said it currently has close to 70 touchpoints spread across multiple cities. These include Bengaluru, Delhi, Patna, Bhopal, Agra, Goa, Vijayawada, Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, Kochi, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj (Aurangabad), and Chennai, among others.

Simple Energy also plans to enter more markets in the coming months. Upcoming expansion targets mentioned by the company include Nagpur, Ranchi, and Bhubaneshwar.

A wider physical network is considered important for electric vehicle adoption, especially for after-sales support, service accessibility, and customer confidence in emerging EV brands.

Growing Product Portfolio in 2026

The launch of the Ultra marks another major step in the company’s product expansion strategy for 2026.

Earlier this year, Simple Energy introduced the second-generation versions of the Simple One and Simple One S. The Simple One Gen 2 is available in two variants and offers IDC ranges of 236 km and 265 km. Prices for the model start at ₹1.94 lakh ex-showroom.

The Simple One S Gen 2, positioned as a more accessible offering, comes with an IDC range of 190 km and carries a starting ex-showroom price of ₹1.74 lakh.

With the arrival of the Ultra, the company has now added its fourth product launch of the year, including the Simple One S and the two variants of the Gen 2 Simple One.

Premium Electric Scooter Segment Gets Stronger

The introduction of the Simple Ultra highlights the increasing competition in India’s premium electric two-wheeler market, where buyers are placing greater focus on range, performance, connected features, and ownership support.

With a larger battery pack, long claimed range, quick acceleration, and expanding retail presence, the Ultra is positioned as a flagship offering for customers looking for a high-spec electric scooter.

As competition intensifies across the EV space, new launches such as the Simple Ultra are expected to give consumers more choices across performance and price categories.
