Bengaluru-based deep-tech defence startup Paar Autonomy has raised Rs 10 crore in a funding round led by AdvantEdge Founders, with plans to expand production of its AI-powered camera systems and develop navigation technology that allows drones to operate without GPS.
Founded in June 2024 by Vignesh Sivaram Jayaraman, the startup develops camera systems and artificial intelligence (AI) software for drones and other unmanned defence platforms. Its technology focuses on helping autonomous machines interpret their surroundings, track targets and navigate in environments where satellite navigation or communication links may be unavailable or disrupted.
The latest funding follows a Rs 3.5 crore pre-seed round led by Venture Catalysts. The earlier capital was used to establish the company’s first manufacturing line and deliver pilot units.
Paar Autonomy to Expand Camera Production and Navigation Technology
The fresh capital will support two key priorities: scaling up the production of AI-powered camera systems and developing technology for GPS-independent drone navigation.
The navigation capability is particularly relevant to unmanned systems operating in GPS-denied environments. Such systems need alternative ways to understand their position and surroundings when satellite-based navigation cannot be relied upon.
Paar Autonomy’s technology portfolio includes edge-based AI, visual-inertial navigation independent of GPS and Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS), and gyro-stabilised camera payloads that combine inputs from multiple sensors.
These capabilities are designed for operations in environments where GPS signals or communication links may be disrupted or contested. The company also uses AI models to interpret environmental information in real time, improve situational awareness and support target tracking during autonomous operations.
Sentinel Product Range Targets Unmanned Defence Platforms
Paar Autonomy develops perception systems for unmanned aerial, ground and maritime vehicles. Its technology is intended for platforms ranging from drones and ground rovers to unmanned boats.
The company’s product portfolio includes the Sentinel series, which comprises Sentinel 1, Sentinel 2, Sentinel Nano, Sentinel Nano Dark and Sentinel Nano Dual.
Its primary focus is on defence applications, including border surveillance and tactical tracking. The company also caters to civilian applications such as industrial inspection, infrastructure monitoring and disaster response.
By developing camera payloads and onboard AI software, Paar Autonomy is targeting the systems that help unmanned platforms process visual information and respond to their operating environments.
Defence Robotics Startups Continue to Attract Funding
Paar Autonomy’s latest fundraise comes amid continued investment in India’s defence technology, robotics and autonomous systems segment, where startups are developing navigation, sensing and unmanned platform technologies.
In September 2026, Aeron Systems raised $4.7 million in a pre-Series B round to expand its navigation, sensing and monitoring technologies for defence and aerospace applications.
Yaanendriya raised Rs 15 crore from Piper Serica in July 2026 to develop indigenous navigation controllers and sensors for robotics and aerospace. General Autonomy also secured $3.8 million from Elevation Capital and India Quotient in 2026 to advance its robotics and autonomous systems.
Earlier, Raphe mPhibr raised $100 million in a funding round led by General Catalyst in June 2025. In September 2025, Unmannd secured $2 million from Speciale Invest and Accel to commercialise autonomous aerial logistics and counter-drone systems.
For Paar Autonomy, the immediate focus is on expanding manufacturing capacity and advancing navigation technology for unmanned platforms. Its ability to scale production while developing systems that can function without dependable GPS access will be central to its next phase of growth.
