Atlas, an AI-driven platform designed for accounting firms, has raised $6 million in a seed funding round co-led by Accel and Stellaris Venture Partners. The funding marks an early milestone for the startup as it looks to strengthen its presence in a rapidly evolving accounting technology space.

Focus on Product Expansion and Market Growth

The newly raised capital will be used to enhance Atlas’s artificial intelligence platform and expand its network of partner accounting firms, particularly across North America. The company also plans to scale its go-to-market strategies to reach a broader customer base and accelerate adoption among independent firms.

Building AI-Native Tools for Accountants

Founded in 2025 by Arpit Maheshwari and Jagmal Singh, Atlas develops AI-native solutions tailored for independent accounting firms. The platform is designed to streamline both operational and administrative workflows, helping firms manage routine processes more efficiently. By integrating artificial intelligence into core functions, Atlas aims to modernize how accounting firms operate on a day-to-day basis.

Human-in-the-Loop Approach to Automation

A key aspect of Atlas’s platform is its human-in-the-loop model. Rather than replacing accountants, the system is built to assist them in executing tasks more efficiently. This approach allows professionals to focus on higher-value responsibilities while the platform handles repetitive or time-consuming processes. The company reports that its system has delivered efficiency improvements of more than five times in specific workflows.

Addressing Talent Shortages in the Industry

Atlas is primarily targeting independent accounting firms, with a strong focus on North America. The region’s accounting sector is currently facing a shortage of skilled professionals, creating demand for solutions that can improve productivity without compromising quality. By offering AI-powered tools, Atlas aims to help firms manage increasing workloads despite limited human resources.

Plans for Network Expansion and Product Development

Looking ahead, Atlas intends to grow its partner network while continuing to enhance its platform’s capabilities. The company plans to deepen its product offerings across various accounting workflows, ensuring that firms can benefit from a more comprehensive and integrated solution.

With fresh funding and a clear focus on innovation, Atlas is positioning itself to play a significant role in transforming how independent accounting firms operate, particularly in markets where efficiency and talent availability remain critical challenges.
