RENEE Cosmetics has raised $30 million in a Series C funding round at a $200 million valuation, as the beauty brand doubles down on scaling beyond the online-first playbook and building a wider offline footprint.

The round was led by Playbook, and included secondaries from Midas, with the transaction comprising a mix of primary and secondary investments, according to the company.

What the fresh capital will be used for?

The company said the Series C proceeds will go into three clear buckets:

  • Expanding the product portfolio
  • Scaling omnichannel presence across Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities
  • Increasing investment in technology and brand-building initiatives

That “omnichannel” emphasis is not being positioned as a side quest. The brand’s leadership is openly framing offline as a meaningful lever for the next phase of growth.

The scale RENÉE Cosmetics is claiming right now?

On operating traction, RENÉE’s co-founder Ashutosh Valani said the company has reached an annual revenue run rate of ₹500 crore, and is targeting ₹1,000 crore over the next two years.

Meanwhile, co-founder and CMO Aashka Goradia Goble said the funding will help accelerate R&D and enable launches of new product formats aligned with global beauty trends.

On distribution, the company said it is present in 15,000 outlets, and believes there is “significant headroom” to grow further in retail.

It also claimed it has grown nearly three times over the past 18 months, attributing the momentum to consumer adoption, omnichannel expansion and innovation-led product launches.

Offline is being treated as the next growth engine

Co-founder Priyank Shah said RENÉE plans to strengthen its offline distribution engine and retail presence in untapped locations, adding that offline is expected to play “a key role” in the company’s next growth phase.

In practical terms, that signals a brand trying to reduce over-dependence on digital customer acquisition alone and build a repeatable retail machine, especially in the Tier 1 and Tier 2 corridor where beauty consumption is broadening but shelf visibility still matters.

RENÉE also said it is expanding globally through a beta online presence in the US, UAE and Australia.

Significance

Series C rounds at this stage often reveal what a company wants to become next. In RENÉE’s case, the messaging is consistent: more products, more distribution, and more tech, built around an omnichannel roadmap rather than a purely internet-native trajectory.

What will be worth watching from here is how fast RENÉE can translate that stated retail momentum, 15,000 outlets today, into deeper penetration and stronger unit economics while it simultaneously invests in R&D and brand-building.
