As the highly anticipated Apple iPhone 16 officially launches in India today, quick commerce services are expanding their delivery capabilities beyond traditional groceries and household items. Notably, Blinkit and Big Basket are vying to deliver the latest iPhone model to customers within an impressive timeframe of just 10 minutes.

Big Basket, part of the Tata Group, announced its partnership with Croma to facilitate rapid deliveries of the iPhone 16 series. Simultaneously, Blinkit, under the leadership of CEO Albinder Dhindsa, revealed its collaboration with Unicorn stores for similar speedy service in selected areas. Dhindsa took to X (formerly Twitter) to confirm the initiative, emphasizing that customers will have access to exclusive offers and EMI options through the Unicorn stores when purchasing the new iPhone.

This isn’t Blinkit’s first foray into the world of smartphone deliveries. The platform previously delivered the iPhone 14 series and has continued this trend with the latest launch. Dhindsa reported that Blinkit commenced its iPhone 16 deliveries at 8 am, successfully fulfilling 300 orders within just a few hours. Big Basket, in a demonstration of its quick service, confirmed that a customer in Koramangala, Bengaluru, received their iPhone 16 by 8:07 am, having placed the order precisely at 8 am.

The competition between Blinkit and Big Basket underscores a growing trend in the quick commerce sector, where platforms are now catering to tech-savvy consumers eager for immediate access to the latest electronics. Both companies are offering this rapid delivery service in major metropolitan areas, including Bengaluru, Delhi, and Mumbai.

Beyond the iPhone 16, the swift delivery options have also been extended to other popular electronics, such as the Galaxy S24 series and the PlayStation 5, enhancing the overall convenience for consumers in urban markets.
