Ola Electric has officially launched its highly anticipated electric motorcycle, the Ola Roadster X. Today, the first units will roll out from the company’s state-of-the-art Futurefactory. This marks a significant evolution in India’s electric mobility space as the company expands beyond electric scooters into the premium motorcycle segment.

Ola Electric founder and CEO Bhavish Aggarwal launched the Roadster X through Linkedin. The launch is marketed as a strong step forward for India’s move away from internal combustion engines (ICE). Aggarwal clarified that the new bike is not an incremental step beyond conventional two-wheelers but an overhaul of motorcycling from scratch.
“We weren’t interested in incremental improvements. We challenged ourselves to rethink motorcycling from first principles,” Aggarwal wrote. “Our team has worked relentlessly to bring this vision to life, and today’s rollout is a testament to their dedication and innovation.”
The Next Chapter in Ola Electric’s Journey
Following its disruption of the Indian two-wheeler market with the Ola S1 electric scooters, Ola Electric is now doubling down on performance and design innovation. The Roadster X is envisioned as a next-generation electric motorcycle, designed to appeal to riders seeking both style and sustainability.
Though technical specifications and pricing were not disclosed in the announcement, the Roadster X’s positioning suggests it will cater to the mid-to-premium segment, directly competing with ICE bikes in the 150cc to 250cc category and offering superior torque, low maintenance, and digital-first features.
Ola Roadster X: Built at the Futurefactory
The rollout of the Roadster X is taking place at Ola’s all-women-run Futurefactory in Krishnagiri, Tamil Nadu, which the company claims is one of the largest EV production facilities in the world. The factory is built for scalability, and is expected to play a central role in Ola’s vision of making India a global EV hub.
Deliveries Begin This Month
With production underway, customer deliveries of the Roadster X are set to begin later this month, making Ola Electric one of the few Indian companies to deliver a complete portfolio of EV two-wheelers from scooters to motorcycles.
Aggarwal expressed excitement about the Roadster X reaching customers, stating, “I can’t wait for our community to experience what we’ve built.”
Industry Impact and the #EndICEAge Vision
The Roadster X is a component of Ola Electric’s broader plan to move the country closer to a future powered entirely by electricity. Aggarwal and his team are positioning the launch, which is being led by the hashtag #EndICEAge, as a step in making internal combustion engine vehicles obsolete in Indian traffic.
Shaping The Future
Ola Electric isn’t stopping at just one electric motorcycle. The company is quietly building a much bigger vision which includes not only a full range of electric bikes, cars but the infrastructure needed to power them all too. Ola is serious about shaping the future of mobility in India.
