Edgehax, a Bengaluru-based edge-AI hardware startup, has raised ₹1.39 crore in a seed round led by Inflection Point Ventures (IPV). The company announced that the fresh infusion of capital will be directed towards scaling up its manufacturing facilities, accelerating product development cycles, and entering new international markets including Singapore, the United States, and Europe. The raise was disclosed on August 21, 2025, and marks a key milestone for the year-old company.

Founders with a Vision

Edgehax was established in 2025, with CEO Prabhu Stavarmath and COO Savitri Patil leading the way. The pair was motivated to close the obvious gap within the Indian technology ecosystem enacting a very high dependency on imported edge-computing boards. Their idea was to design and manufacture modular edge hardware within India that could match global standards while being cost-effective and accessible to startups and enterprises.

Modular Edge Hardware Platform

At the core of Edgehax’s offering is a single-board modular platform that brings together compute, connectivity, and storage. The integration allows developers, startups, and OEMs to quickly prototype and commercialize products without depending on foreign supply chains or figuring out the import of the parts. The company has also built DvarOS, a custom operating system for industrial edge gateways to go along with the hardware. This combination positions Edgehax as a full-stack edge-computing solution provider.

Adoption and Academic Outreach

In less than a year since its founding, Edgehax has seen noteworthy traction. Its products are being used by more than 150 enterprises across different sectors. The startup has also shipped over 5,000 edge gateway boards to customers. In addition to industry adoption, Edgehax has placed heavy emphasis on supporting India’s skilling and education ecosystem. It has provided hardware developer kits to more than 100,000 existing students and faculty in over 30 universities and IITs, facilitating practical learning of robotics, IoT, and AI-driven hardware. The company further committed to deliver an additional 10,000 compute modules until December 2025.

Applications Across Sectors

Edgehax’s modular boards are being used in a variety of industries. They power industrial gateways needing real time decision making at the edge and are being used in autonomous vehicles, humanoid robots, drones, and defence systems. The company has also built solutions around NavIC-based tracking, leveraging India’s indigenous satellite navigation system, and supports 4G/5G connectivity for next-generation networks. By offering compact and powerful compute solutions, Edgehax is positioning itself as an enabler of India’s ambitions in advanced technologies.

Competing on a Global Stage

The edge AI hardware landscape is extremely competitive with large multinational organizations being the majority stakeholders, such as NVIDIA Jetson, Qualcomm Robotics RB5, and Raspberry Pi- to name a few. There are also more recent entrants into the market within specific segments such as Google Coral. Edgehax differentiates itself through its India-first manufacturing approach, modular design philosophy, and active participation in the country’s skilling ecosystem. This local-first strategy allows it to assure supply chains and offer robust support to Indian customers while aiming for a global footprint.

Recognitions and Awards

Despite being a young company, Edgehax has already earned recognition from leading technology programs. It was selected for the NXP Silicon Seeds Startup Program 2025, under which it is developing a low-cost edge AI compute module for automotive and consumer IoT applications. The first rollout is expected in Singapore later this year. In addition, Edgehax was awarded under the MeitY Bhashini Startup Velocity 1.0 program for its contributions to hardware innovation supporting India’s voice-AI ecosystem. These accolades validate its potential to compete at an international level while contributing to national digital initiatives.

Backing from India’s Tech Ecosystem

The startup’s growth has been recognized by the Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) who congratulated Edgehax on completing its seed funding round. STPI has also incubated Edgehax within its NGIS (Next Generation Incubation Scheme) enhancing its connection with India’s innovation and policy ecosystem. This government-supported backing enhances credibility and provides additional platforms for the company to scale.

Investor Perspective

Led by Inflection Point Ventures, and taking into consideration past investments in hardware-related ventures, ‘Edgehax’ has the ability to make an enormous impact in India’s quest for hardware design and manufacturing self-reliance! The investment is an expression of the growing interest in domestic solutions for critical technologies such as AI, IoT, and robotics. According to IPV, strong hardware in India would not only solidify supply chains but also set India up as a competing nation in edge computing.

Edgehax’s Next Chapter

Going forward, Edgehax plans to broaden their product range and increase manufacturing capacity capacity for both Indian and other clients around the world. The focus is to enhance applications across industries such as healthcare, agriculture, smart cities, and other areas where Edge computing can offer compelling efficiencies. With international expansion on the horizon and increasing adoption within India, Edgehax is well-placed to evolve into one of the country’s leading hardware technology companies.
