Upon being asked what is the most important body part, a philosopher once replied the part that hurts the most. The quest for a healthy body takes precedence especially when one enters thirties. Sisters Sudha and Veda Gogineni, founders of Earthful, a plant-based nutrition space, offering natural multivitamins and protein powders experienced something similar.

From IIT to Corporate Hustle

Both graduated from IIT Kharagpur. While Sudha pursued a bachelors in civil engineering, Veda completed the same in biotechnology. The former joined ITC and later moved to Urban Touch. She later completed her MBA from the Indian School of Business. Veda joined Deutsche Bank in Mumbai and then worked with Meesho.

Their corporate careers accustomed them to the perils of sedentary life and consequent health problems. In their words,

“Our decade-long corporate story could be anyone’s story. We worked our way to great jobs, worked incredibly hard, and felt like we had it all. Before, it all began. Our health was slowly but surely, deteriorating. Lack of time and a sedentary lifestyle impacted us in many ways – skin pigmentation, low energy levels, acid reflux, back pains. You name it, and we had it.

We desperately wanted to fix our health, but the recommendations that came our way were either too synthetic, or too difficult to implement. We were looking for a safe and easy alternative.”

The Birth of Earthful

They then decided to start their own company using science-backed nutrition supplements that help would help consumers stay fit and healthy, the natural way. These multivitamins are crafted using plant sources like curry leaves for iron and amla for Vitamin C.

“Nutrition supplements were a great solution but were too synthetic for our liking. But the idea of creating nutrition supplements that were entirely plant based was very appealing to both of us. So, we brought Earthful to life – nutrition supplements that are 100% plant based and pack powerful elements of mother earth.”

Innovating with Flavours and Accessibility

The brand introduced new flavours including Japanese Matcha and coffee mocha protein and is available on platforms like Flipkart, Amazon and Myntra for sale. The company aims to reach INR 500 crore mark within the next three years.
