Apple’s next premium iPhone lineup could bring a sharp split in pricing, with the company’s rumoured foldable potentially sitting far above its conventional Pro models.

A now-removed Vodafone Egypt listing reportedly showed an “iPhone Ultra” priced at EGP 155,750, compared with EGP 94,400 for the 256GB iPhone 17 Pro Max. On that comparison alone, the alleged foldable would carry a premium of roughly 65%.

The same pricing leak paints a much less dramatic picture for the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max.

Vodafone Egypt listing suggests a very different pricing story for the iPhone 18 Pro models

The leaked information, shared by Yousif Ayman, put the iPhone 18 Pro at EGP 98,000 and the iPhone 18 Pro Max at EGP 105,000.

Vodafone Egypt lists the 256GB iPhone 17 Pro at EGP 88,800 and the iPhone 17 Pro Max at EGP 94,400. Those figures imply an increase of about 10% for the iPhone 18 Pro and roughly 11% for the iPhone 18 Pro Max if the leaked prices prove accurate.

That gap is significant because it suggests Apple’s alleged foldable may not simply sit one step above the Pro Max. Instead, its pricing could place it in an entirely different tier.

The contrast is particularly clear in Egypt. While the two Pro models appear to move up by around a tenth, the reported iPhone Ultra price is nearly two-thirds higher than the existing Pro Max.

What could the iPhone Ultra cost outside Egypt?

It wouldn’t make sense to directly convert the cost of the products since taxation and pricing will differ depending on the market. The better comparison will be to look at the percentage difference in similar products in the same country.

Using the 65% gap between the leaked iPhone Ultra price and the iPhone 17 Pro Max as a rough reference, the report calculated possible prices of around $1,980 in the US, £1,980 in the UK, €2,395 in Europe and ₹247,500 in India.

The similarity between the Egyptian and Australian percentage gaps is notable, although neither set of figures amounts to official Apple pricing.

iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max could see more restrained increases

The projected increases for the conventional Pro models are considerably smaller.

The iPhone 17 Pro launched at $1,100, £1,100, €1,300 and ₹135,000. Applying a roughly 10% increase would put an iPhone 18 Pro at about $1,210, £1,210, €1,430 and ₹148,500.

The same exercise for the iPhone 17 Pro Max produces estimated prices of around $1,320, £1,320, €1,600 and ₹165,000. Again, these are calculations based on the percentage difference seen in the reported Vodafone Egypt prices, rather than confirmed prices from Apple.

The report also cites a TrendForce estimate suggesting that the bill of materials for the iPhone 18 Pro could be around 40% higher than that of the iPhone 17 Pro. TrendForce was also cited as estimating a $1,400 price for the 256GB model. These remain analyst estimates rather than official Apple figures.

Apple event expected on September 9

Apple is expected to hold an event on September 9, with the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max and its first foldable among the products anticipated in the report.

The information also says John Ternus is due to host an Apple event as CEO for the first time. A reported September 11 pre-order date is described as unconfirmed, while the standard iPhone 18 is suggested to arrive later rather than alongside the Pro lineup.

Until Apple announces the devices and their official regional prices, the Vodafone Egypt figures should be treated strictly as leaked pricing rather than confirmed launch information.

What the leak does offer is an unusually clear indication of how Apple could position its first foldable if the numbers hold: not merely as another Pro iPhone, but as a substantially more expensive product sitting well above the Pro Max.
