Grand Theft Auto 6 fans are finally getting another major look at the highly anticipated game. Rockstar Games has announced that Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look will premiere on Netflix on August 27, followed by a wider release on Rockstar Games’ official YouTube channel and the official GTA VI website later the same day.
The announcement comes after months of anticipation surrounding the game. Rockstar previously released Trailer 2 in May 2025, while pre-orders for GTA VI opened in June 2026. The game is currently scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
A New Look Arrives After Months of Waiting
Fans have been waiting for more footage since Trailer 2 introduced further details about the game’s world and characters. Rockstar has now confirmed that the next major presentation will not be labelled as Trailer 3. Instead, it is officially being called Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look.
The extended look will debut on Netflix at 3 p.m. ET on Thursday, August 27. Six hours later, it will become available to everyone through Rockstar Games’ official YouTube channel and the Grand Theft Auto VI website.
Rockstar has not officially revealed the exact length or detailed content of the presentation. As a result, it cannot yet be confirmed whether the footage will focus primarily on gameplay, story elements, characters or other parts of the game.
Indian Fans Can Watch It in Two Time Slots
For viewers in India, the Netflix premiere will take place in the early hours of Friday, August 28. Since 3 p.m. ET corresponds to 12:30 a.m. IST on August 28, Netflix subscribers will be able to watch the extended look at that time.
Those who do not have access to Netflix will not have to wait long. The presentation will arrive on Rockstar’s official YouTube channel and the GTA VI website at 9 p.m. ET on August 27, which is 6:30 a.m. IST on August 28.
This means Indian viewers have two confirmed options:
- Netflix: 12:30 a.m. IST, August 28
- YouTube and GTA VI website: 6:30 a.m. IST, August 28
The official GTA VI website confirms that the game is scheduled to release on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

Fans Face Restrictions Before the Public Release
The early Netflix release also comes with restrictions on how the footage can be shared before its wider launch.
Community guidelines published for the GTA 6 subreddit state that users will not be allowed to repost the complete video or share links to the full presentation on other platforms before it becomes officially available on YouTube and the GTA VI website at 9 p.m. ET.
The guidelines do allow fans to post screenshots and short clips of around 10 seconds for discussion and reactions. Longer portions of the presentation are not permitted under those rules.
These restrictions are expected to make the six-hour gap between the Netflix premiere and the wider online release particularly important for fans who want to avoid unauthorized copies and spoilers.
Rockstar Keeps the Details Under Wraps
Despite the announcement, Rockstar has revealed very little about what the extended look will contain. The company has not confirmed whether the presentation will provide a substantial gameplay demonstration or offer a deeper look at the game’s characters and world.
What is confirmed is that GTA VI will return players to modern-day Vice City and the wider state of Leonida, with Jason and Lucia at the centre of the story. Rockstar’s official game page describes their story as involving a criminal conspiracy across Leonida.
With the release date now set for November 19, the August 27 presentation will give fans their next official opportunity to see more of GTA VI before launch. For Indian players, the choice is straightforward: watch the early Netflix premiere at 12:30 a.m. IST or wait until 6:30 a.m. for the official YouTube and GTA VI website release.
