In a move that signals a sharper focus on India’s fast-evolving devotional products market, Cycle Pure Agarbathi has acquired pooja accessories brand Satvik, bringing together legacy manufacturing strength and digital-first distribution under one roof.

It is part of a larger trend in terms of the way devotional products have been purchased in recent times. Although there is a strong tradition-based element in devotional purchases, consumer demand in terms of accessibility and convenience is evolving at a rapid pace. Through their association with Satvik, Cycle Pure Agarbathi can achieve its goal of reaching out to both categories of consumers.

The strategic move will increase the offerings of the company from incense sticks alone to various other offerings such as puja essentials and spiritual goods in general. This would allow the company to ensure that devotional products become increasingly accessible while also retaining their authenticity.

For Cycle Pure Agarbathi, the deal strengthens its ability to evolve with the market while staying anchored in its legacy. Managing Director Arjun Ranga described the acquisition as a step towards offering a more complete range of authentic products while adapting to a digitally driven landscape. He emphasised the importance of balancing tradition with innovation to shape how spiritual engagement is experienced going forward.

Satvik, on the other hand, brings scale in digital distribution and a focused approach to making puja essentials widely accessible. Founder and Managing Director Vinod Bansal said the partnership would accelerate reach and growth by combining digital-first operations with an established brand known for trust and consistency.

Beyond the domestic market, the combined entity is also looking at expanding access to devotional products for the global Indian diaspora. Improved availability across geographies is expected to play a role in extending the category’s reach beyond India.

Founded in 1948, Cycle Pure Agarbathi’s parent company NR Group has steadily diversified its business across home fragrances, floral extracts and aerospace components, while continuing to anchor itself in the incense segment.

The acquisition of Satvik fits into this broader strategy of strengthening its core while adapting to new consumption patterns.

As the devotional products market becomes more organised and digitally enabled, this acquisition highlights a clear direction: scale will increasingly depend on how well companies can combine cultural authenticity with modern retail infrastructure.
