What DMart says it will store here
The agreement lists the space as meant for storage and distribution across a wide assortment, ranging from groceries and FMCG to electronics, garments, footwear, and home-related categories, among others . The breadth of categories signals a multi-SKU distribution role rather than a single-product warehouse.
Why this corridor keeps getting attention
CRE Matrix notes that the Panvel-Raigad belt continues to draw large warehousing and logistics commitments because of operational advantages tied to proximity to Mumbai, making it efficient for retail distribution . It also adds that, with this facility, DMart is strengthening its backend supply chain infrastructure close to Mumbai.
Big picture: warehousing demand remains firm
The wider industrials and logistics market has been busy too. According to Savills India figures quoted in the same report, 2025 saw 76.5 million sq ft of annual absorption, an increase of 18.6% on the previous year, which partly explains the trend towards long-term leased space in prime consumer routes.
