As temperatures continue to soar, Adani Electricity on Wednesday appealed to its customers to stay cool, but with care. The Mumbai-based utility company encouraged households and businesses to manage their power usage smartly to avoid steep electricity bills and reduce environmental impact during the peak summer months.
In a statement, Adani Electricity cautioned that increased reliance on cooling appliances such as air conditioners and refrigerators can significantly raise power consumption, pushing users into higher tariff slabs.
“Effectively managing electricity consumption during peak summer months can lead to lower bills and a reduced environmental impact,” a company spokesperson stated.
The company emphasized that small behavioral shifts, like adjusting air conditioner settings or unplugging unused devices, can result in major savings over time.
Smart Cooling Tips from Adani Electricity
Adani Electricity recommended setting air conditioners to a moderate temperature of around 24°C and using ceiling fans to circulate cool air more efficiently. The use of programmable thermostats or inverter-based appliances can help optimize energy consumption based on room occupancy.
The company also advised consumers to make use of cooler times of day by opening windows in the early morning or late evening for natural ventilation.
“Keeping blinds or curtains closed during the hottest hours prevents heat buildup and reduces the load on cooling devices,” the statement noted.
Upgrade Appliances, Save More
Customers were encouraged to invest in appliances with high Energy Star ratings, which consume less power without compromising performance. Washing machines and dishwashers should ideally be used during off-peak hours to reduce pressure on the power grid and lower costs.
“Many electronic devices draw power even when not in use, this is known as phantom energy consumption,” the spokesperson added. “Unplug chargers and use power strips to disconnect multiple gadgets easily.”
Regular Maintenance Matters
In an effort to keep air conditioners, refrigerators and other similar equipment working as economically as possible, Adani Electricity has asked customers to make sure to clean air filters and have their equipment maintenance performed regularly. As temperatures are expected to rise across the country, the utility’s energy efficiency measures will also give consumers the opportunity to deal with spiraling bills, and promote a more eco-friendly and responsible way of living.
