Mumbai, February 26, 2025: Bollywood’s King Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, is set to vacate his iconic sea-facing bungalow, Mannat, as it undergoes a grand-scale renovation. The superstar and his family have leased a four-floor luxury apartment in Mumbai’s posh Pali Hill area for a whopping ₹24 lakh per month.
Mannat’s Multi-Crore Makeover
Mannat, one of Mumbai’s most famous celebrity residences, is undergoing a two-year-long expansion project, with plans to add two additional floors to the six-storey annexe behind the main structure. The estimated renovation cost stands at ₹25 crore, and the project has received clearance from the Maharashtra Coastal Zone Management Authority (MCZMA).
Gauri Khan, SRK’s wife and a renowned interior designer, is reportedly spearheading the redesign, ensuring the heritage property gets a modern yet elegant upgrade. However, due to the scale of the construction, the Khan family has decided to temporarily move out.
A Temporary Palace in Pali Hill
For the next two years, SRK, Gauri, and their children—Aryan, Suhana, and AbRam—will call Puja Casa, a luxury high-rise in Bandra’s Pali Hill, their home. The swanky apartment belongs to film producer Vashu Bhagnani’s family, with Jackky Bhagnani and Deepshika Deshmukh as co-owners.
Reports indicate that each floor of the residence features a single spacious apartment, offering enough room for the Khan family’s security personnel and staff.
The Price of Luxury in Mumbai
While Mannat remains an iconic landmark, this move highlights the skyrocketing rental prices in Mumbai’s elite neighbourhoods. With a monthly rent of ₹24 lakh, SRK’s temporary home is among the most expensive rental properties in the city, reaffirming Mumbai’s status as one of the most expensive real estate markets in the world.
For fans, this means that Mannat will be off-limits for glimpses of the superstar for the foreseeable future, as it transforms into an even grander version of itself.
