SBI New Delhi Main Branch Celebrates 100 Years of Banking Legacy

An important turning point in Indian banking history was reached on Wednesday when the prestigious New Delhi branch of State Bank of India (SBI) began its centennial year. On January 4, 1926, it opened as the Raisina Road Branch. On March 4, 1926, it changed its name to the New Delhi Branch. A unique cover honouring the bank’s ongoing presence in the nation’s capital was unveiled on Tuesday in remembrance of this legacy.

As a financial pillar for people, organisations, and the government, this ancient branch has seen India change through colonial rule, independence, and modernisation.
