Government’s Focus on Farmers’ Welfare
Ever since its launch in 2019, PM-KISAN has proved to be an important support mechanism for marginal and small farmers. The scheme has released close to ₹3.68 lakh crore to date, which reflects the government’s emphasis on rural growth and agricultural sustainability.
With polls at the door, this episode only strengthens the BJP government’s determination towards farmers, a critical voting pool. While others call for a hike in yearly benefits due to rising inflation, the government insists that cash transfers directly into farmers’ bank accounts along with other rural initiatives are providing stability of funds for farmers.
