Honasa CMO Anuja Mishra Steps Down; CEO Takes Interim Role

Honasa Consumer Pvt. Ltd., the parent company behind the leading skincare and beauty products company Mamaearth, has recently announced the resignation of their Chief Marketing Officer, Anuja Mishra, effective from the closure of the business on June 30, 2025. Amid speculation surrounding the resignation, the company stated that personal reasons prompted it.

CEO Varun Alagh Takes Interim Role

As the resignation continues to draw public and media attention, Honasa Consumer Limited has officially announced that Varun Alagh, the company’s CEO and full-time director, will step in to handle the responsibilities of the Chief Marketing Officer temporarily. The move ensures continuity in leadership and strategic oversight of the brand’s marketing operations during the transition period.

Anuja Mishra’s Journey in Honasa

Mishra joined Honasa Consumer in March 2022 and played a key role in shaping the marketing strategies for brands, including Mamaearth, BBlunt, and The Derma Co. that targeted both millennials and Gen Z audiences and gave fruitful returns.

Initially in her career, she did a summer internship at Reckitt Benckiser, and after that, she joined Nestlé as a National Account Manager. At Hewitt Associates, she served as a consultant, and later her career took a turn, and she was a part of PepsiCo as a Market Development Manager for North India region.

Adding momentum to her position, she also worked with brands such as 7Up and Mirinda as Associate Marketing Director and Category Head.

Before being a part of Honasa as a Chief Marketing Officer(CMO), Mishra led marketing for the personal care and hygiene segment at Godrej Consumer Products.

Mishra has a diverse portfolio as she held leadership roles across brand management, innovation strategy, and sales at several major FMCG companies.
