Apple has announced a new product event titled “Pro and Tell”, putting its next MacBook Pro launch in the spotlight. The event is scheduled for Wednesday, October 28, with members of the media invited to an in-person experience in Los Angeles, California, beginning at 10 am Pacific Time.

The announcement was shared by Apple Senior Vice President of Marketing Greg Joswiak on X. While Apple has not confirmed which products will be unveiled, speculation points to a potential refresh of the MacBook Pro lineup, alongside updates to other devices.

The event comes as Apple appears to be moving towards a more regular product launch schedule, rather than relying primarily on its traditional twice-a-year launch strategy. Following the recent Home View launch, the company is preparing to introduce another set of products.

OLED MacBook Pro Could Be the Main Attraction

One of the most anticipated products linked to the event is a redesigned MacBook Pro featuring an OLED touchscreen display. If launched, the device would mark a notable change for Apple’s professional laptop lineup, which has traditionally relied on non-touchscreen displays.

The rumoured OLED MacBook Pro is expected to be among the key products under consideration for Apple’s upcoming launch cycle. However, the company has not officially confirmed the device or its specifications.

Another possible addition is an entry-level MacBook Pro powered by Apple’s upcoming M6 chip. The device could give the company another option in its professional laptop range, although details about its configuration, pricing and availability remain unconfirmed.

M6 iMac and OLED iPad Mini Also Rumoured

The MacBook Pro may not be the only product in Apple’s upcoming hardware lineup. Rumours also point to a new iMac powered by the M6 chip and an iPad mini featuring an OLED display.

An OLED upgrade for the iPad mini would bring a different display technology to the compact tablet range. However, Apple has not confirmed whether the device will appear at the October event.

The possible combination of new MacBook Pro models, an updated iMac and a redesigned iPad mini suggests that Apple could be preparing a broader hardware refresh. For now, these products remain part of the rumoured lineup rather than an officially confirmed launch list.

November 6 Launch Date Previously Reported

The timing of Apple’s announcement also raises questions about when the new devices could reach the market.

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman had previously reported that the OLED MacBook Pro and other devices could launch on Friday, November 6. That date differs from the October 28 event announced by Apple, leaving room for a distinction between the media event and the possible release schedule.

Apple has not confirmed November 6 as a launch or retail availability date for the rumoured products.

Apple Appears to Be Changing Its Launch Rhythm

The “Pro and Tell” announcement comes amid signs of a shift in how Apple introduces new products. Rather than concentrating its announcements around a limited number of major launch windows, the company appears to be preparing more frequent product introductions.

The latest event could offer a clearer picture of that approach, particularly if Apple unveils several devices across its Mac and iPad ranges.

For now, the OLED MacBook Pro remains the most closely watched rumoured product associated with the event. Apple’s October 28 gathering should provide more clarity on its next hardware plans, but the final product list will remain uncertain until the company makes its official announcements.
